Katherine "Katie" Fidler

Katherine "Katie" Fidler was born on March 21, 1988, the beloved fourth child of Shelby and Marmie Fidler. From the very beginning, Katie was a gentle soul with a radiant smile and a quiet strength that would later blossom into a life defined by compassion, perseverance, and love.

Katie spent her early years at St. Aloysius School, attending from Kindergarten through eighth grade, and graduated from Tulare Union High School in 2006. Her passion for athletics led her to UC Santa Barbara, where she proudly played on the women's water polo team for one year until a summer injury brought her competitive career to a close. Though her time as an athlete was cut short, Katie's determination never wavered.

After two years at UCSB, Katie transferred to Fresno State, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work. She went on to receive her Master's in Social Work from University of Michigan-an achievement that reflected her deep desire to serve others and make a meaningful difference in the world.

Katie's journey from a shy young girl into a confident, beautiful woman touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a natural warmth, a magnetic personality, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved. For over a decade, she served individuals with disabilities through California Mentor as a dedicated supervisor in both Visalia and Fresno. Most recently, she brought her talents and heart to Hope Horizon in Tulare, where she worked as a social worker.

Her love for people also shone through during her years at Red Robin, where she formed lifelong friendships as a server, bartender, and smiling face to countless patrons.

Katie was deeply devoted to her family. She shared four years of marriage with Eric Chattom and was the proud and adoring mother of three beautiful sons: Desmond (5), Quincy (4), and Theodore "Theo" (2). Her boys were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into motherhood with tenderness and joy.

Katie is survived by her loving parents, Shelby and Marmie Fidler; her siblings: Tim Fidler (Amy), Jennifer Kramling, and Kim Castro (Jose); and her treasured nephews: Owen Fidler, Ethan Fidler, Reyes Castro, and Ian Castro. She leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, her ex husband and his family, along with dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Norm and Katie Griesbach, Paul and Dorothy Fidler, as well as cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins who welcomed her home with love.

Katie's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with kindness, grace, and unwavering compassion. She will be remembered always for her beautiful spirit, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely.
