Katherine Goodman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 10, 2005.
GOODMAN, KATHERINE M. Daughter of Dr. Allan H. Goodman and Barbara A. Goodman, passed away in the early morning hours of December 8, 2005 at the age of 35. Katherine was a loving and caring daughter, sister, and friend. Devoted to her family, she cared for the health and happiness of her parents over anything else. She was genuine and kind and lived her life with integrity and honesty. Katherine loved to laugh - her laugh was contagious and made everyone around her laugh. Her greatest passion and enjoyment came from making art, especially metalwork and jewelry, where she could use her creative abilities. She was a graduate of San Diego State University, where she did graduate work in Marketing and Art. She also gained a Bachelors degree in Accounting from UC Santa Barbara. Katherine was strong-willed and did not hesitate to give her point of view and stand up for what she believed in. She was very intelligent and athletic. As a child, she loved to ride horses and later became interested in rock climbing and other outdoor activities. She was very perceptive of those in need and was always ready to help. Katherine admired her older brother, Robert, who passed away when she was nineteen. This was a loss that was tremendous for her, as well as the Goodman family. Katherine is survived by her parents, older sister Elizabeth and younger brother Joseph. Katherine's spirit will live in our for hearts forever. Visitation will be at El Camino Memorial Park Saturday, December 10, 2005, 1-5 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. The funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com

It is my sincere desire that these 15 years since Katherine left her parents, have healed to some extent the wound that her passing caused, I know that there always be a scar but at least may it be not so painful.

I hope that 14 years have contributed to heal the wound that the loss of Katherine caused, I know that there will always be a scar in their spirits, but just like a surgical wound it may feel less painful. My best and sincere wishes. Victor M. Uranga.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Goodman,

I am so very sorry for the loss of your wonderful daughter Kathy. She was a good friend of mine in high school, and even though we saw less of each other while we were at UCSB, she always held a special place in my heart. She was kind, brilliant, and had an incredible amount of integrity. She will be truly missed.
