She certainly was a big part of our team's successes for 10+ years, due to her mentorship and great technical skills - she was always ready, willing and able to take on any challenge.
Her compassion and kindness to all animals is something I will always remember about her, as well as her willingness to help anyone that needed help of any sort.
My deepest sympathies to her family - she will be dearly missed, but fondly remembered.

I was shocked and terribly saddened today to learn of Katherine's passing. She worked with my team for many years and even though she was working on contract, she was always considered part of the family. She was highly skilled, and had a wonderful personality. Along with sharing her technical knowledge with others she also shared her stories of pool tournaments, travel and her bike adventures. It was a privilege to have known and worked with Katherine.

I just heard about this today or I would have most certainly been at her service. I am so very shocked and saddened by this as I just had lunch with Katherine at the end of September. She was a colleague for many years and I considered her a great mentor as well as a friend.
My sincere condolences to the Johansen family. RIP Katherine, you will be missed but never forgotten.

I met Kathy through her brother Greg. Although our friendship was short, it was treasured. My deepest condolences to Kathy's wonderful family during this very difficult time.

I met Katherine over ten years ago playing pool. We haven't played on the the same team for years but have always remained friends. I will miss her warm hugs hello.

As Katherine's next door neighbours, we remain shocked and saddened because she was taken so quickly. But we are also very fortunate to have had the chance to get to know her better than ever this past year. Our sincere condolences go out to her good friends and her loving, caring family.

I met Katherine thew riding. I rode a big scooter but that did not bother her in the least like some people. Two summers ago she came to stay a week with me in Vernon. I knew her from when I lived in Calgary but she wanted to visit my new home in Vernon. We had such a great time together riding, reading on my deck and just chatting. It was then that I really got to know her better. She was a great lady who loved her family very much. You are all in my prayers while you go threw this sad time of loss. I am glad I got to know her and have lots of laughs together.

I was blessed to get to know Katherine during my tenure as League Coordinator for SML Pool Leagues. Katherine played pool in our league and as I got to know her I asked her to become a "volunteer" referee for SML 8 ball playoffs. Her stern demeanor ( I knew the truth, she was a warm and wonderful lady behind that intense look) made sure that most did not argue with her and she took great pride in ensuring that the rules were applied correctly for each and every call. She played the game with the same intensity and I am sure she is one of the women in this sport that dispelled the rumor " girls can't play pool" It was a privilege to have her as part of the SML Family as a friend, player and referee. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time..... Rest in peace Kat, you will be missed
