I only met Mrs. McIntyre one time - on a flight from Boston to Los Angeles in maybe October 2002 or 2003? - she was flying out to see her son, Joey. When I looked out the window and commented on the beautiful trees changing color, I found that she was afraid of flying, so we spent the entire trip talking, mostly about her kids and how proud she was of her large family, and the theater. What a lovely woman full of such joy! At the time, I was traveling quite a bit for business and I must say I've never had a more enjoyable flight!
I'm sorry to read of her loss and send my warm wishes and sympathy to her family and friends. I know you must miss her every day! Please know that she likely touched everyone she met!

This lovely woman had the patience of a Saint. She was so nice to us girls as we surrounded her house when we were little teens always looking for Joey. She never yelled at us, she would just say he's not home girls. Imagine how annoying we must have been hanging around all the time. If not at the house we would wait for Joey, at Lil Peach as he would pull up in his Sidekick. Screaming girls everywhere. Sorry for the loss of such a beautiful and loving mother. She truly did support you and your fans. May she rest in peace comforted in the Lords arms.

Like some people on this memory page, I am also a fan of Mrs. McIntyre's son, Joe. i have followed his career for many, many years and every time he did an interview he ALWAYS spoke highly of his Mom, the one that had all the old time music playing in the house and thankfully he grew to love and appreciate it as his years went by in the business...She was, in my eyes, an inspiration to him in so many ways, i will never know how very special person she was but i will say, from what i read so far she touched so many people's lives as well many family and friends..Mrs. McIntyre, may God keep u in His home now, and rest in peace...XO

Sorry sorry to see that your dear mother has died, I was very fond of her and your Dad and the girls. I loved babysitting for you all those years. You Mom was one of a kind a truly wonderful person. I did not babysit your brothers. I had moved away from JP then bit still loved going to the footlight club. which was just down the street (Newsome park) I moved away and lost touch with her.
I remember her phone calls. A wonderful woman has left us. I knew she was not well but was not sure if it was ok to visit her.

In 1990, I received a handwritten note with an autographed picture from the proud mother of my favorite New Kid on The Block. I still have that letter & picture to this day because it meant so much to me back then & still now. She didn't know anything about that 15-year-old girl, other than she had a crush on her son. She was not obligated to reply to my mom's original letter to her, but she did. So now, I will extend her kindness forward to others.
