In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love and miss her always.
Growing up on Capital Hill, in Washington, DC in the 60s and 70s as a Teen, the Marvelettes Songs were off the chart!! I remember dancing with a young male adult at a party and He asked me for my telephone number and I gave him a note that read:
Beechwood 45-789 and we both laughed so hard and He became my first Boyfriend (l.o.l.). Motown Heaven has added another beautiful and talented Angel Singer to their Choir.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family and friends of Katherine Schaffner. I was a preteen when the Marvelettes came on the scene. The sixties was a great time for Motown music. When you think of the Motown legacy of music, you can't help but think of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Temptations, The Supremes, The Marvelettes and of course the many other artist that came along during that time. Listening to old school music is a way of life in our household. Needless to say, the Marvelettes will be part of music history for all eternity.
May you keep treasured memories of Katherine, in your heart. And may you also find comfort in knowing that those who have passed on in death God keeps in his memory because they are all precious in his eyes.

I am a retired teacher from Toronto who worked in a difficult school and one of our best counselors for the kids was Kat. She would fly up monthly to spend the day with "her kids" and one could count on smiles, tears, you name it. Kat became my very good friend and I will miss her dearly.
