Kathleen Connor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 7, 2025.
Kathleen R. Connor, 83, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at her home in Bastrop, Texas. We will always remember the fireworks as a celebration for her.

Kathy was a devoted and loving mother to David Young (Barbara Codey) of Seville, Ohio, and Susan Pavonetti (Michael) of Bastrop, Texas. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Jessica Young (Ken), a cherished sister to Pat Dixon (Roy), and a beloved aunt to Mike and Bart (Kim) Kerekes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Carol Connor of Lodi, Ohio.

Born in Lakewood, Ohio, Kathy spent much of her life in Seville and Lodi, where she raised her family, before settling in Bastrop for her retirement. She studied at Kent State University and earned her degree from the University of Akron. A lifelong lover of books and learning, Kathy found her calling as Head of Circulation at the College of Wooster Library-a role that perfectly suited her passion for reading.

From a young age, Kathy's imagination and curiosity shone brightly. She often recalled reading under the covers after "bedtime" pretending she was a pioneer traveling by covered wagon. Her creative spirit and love for life stayed with her always.

Kathy's greatest joy came from her family and the deep friendships she nurtured throughout her life. Above all, she took immense pride in being a mother and grandmother-a role she considered her life's greatest accomplishment.

She will be remembered for her creative mind, kind heart, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.

Kathi was one of the most beautiful souls I have ever had tbe honor of knowing. I loved her dearly and this earth has lost a truly magnificent light. That is what Kathi brought to the world and people around her....a bright beautiful light. But that light lives on in the heavens and the stars and shines down on all the people she touched. Until we meet again my friend. With Love Day Logan

Kathy was like a mom/aunt to my brother and I for all the years we worked at the Wooster library. You brought joy to your work and we loved being part of your team and for the care you gave to us and all Wooster students.

Andrews Library was a very special place in the 1980's and Kathy's smile and joyful voice made if fun and friendly for its students and staff. See seemed to never have a bad day. My condolences to all you knew and loved her.

My love and prayers go to Kathy´s family. I knew her back in the early eighties, when my then wife worked with her. What a wonderful spirit and a joyful lady with a wry sense of humor. She was a gift for which I am deeply thankful.

Matthew Bieniek and I worked circulation at Andrews Library as Work Study students. We fell in love and surprised Kathy so much when we kissed in front of her that she fell back onto her chair! I think she really loved us and we loved her. She was like our "Library Mom"! I will never forget some of the fascinating stories she told us about her life and also her unending kindness and patience. My heart goes out to her family.

Kathy shared her joy, curiosity, wisdom, and humor freely with all of us who worked with her at Andrews Library - especially the students. I am so grateful for knowing her and to have her support during my time as a student and beyond.

I worked with Kathy for a number of years at the COW Libraries. She so loved working with the students in the Circulation Dept. and always seemed so cheerful. She was a gift to many.

Kathy and I worked together at the Medina library. I have fond memories of her and what a joy she was to work with. I can still recall her smile and laugh. So sorry for your loss.
