I had the honor of working with Kathleen at WSGR back in 1996 for a little over a year. We were fellow paralegals.
During my tenure at WSGR, Kathleen invited me and my wife to her home to participate in a treasure hunt she and Mike had organized. It was then that I met her lovely husband and witnessed the beautiful marriage and life they shared that she always talked about.
When Kathleen had her first child, I vividly remember her bringing the baby to the office while on maternity leave so we could all meet her. I remember holding the baby and I remember Kathleen beaming. To this day I can honestly say that her daughter was the most beautiful baby I have ever seen.
After leaving WSGR my life took its own path and we didn't maintain contact.
Many years later I was curious as to what had become of a few people from my past I remembered fondly. I performed a search for Kathleen Davey and discovered that she had suffered a life altering emergency. I of course was shocked and saddened and reached out to Mike to pay my condolences. It seemed that though tragedy had befallen his family, he picked up and carried on, caring for Kathleen and making sure that his life and the lives of his daughters were full of love. I'm sure Kathleen would have wanted just that.
Though it's been half a year, just last night I learned of the passing of Kathleen. I can't imagine what this means to her family but I suppose there is a mixture of sadness and relief.
I pray and hope that the light of Kathleen's vibrant spirit shall remain a beacon of joy to all that had the pleasure of knowing her. I hope that her family enjoys a long and prosperous life, full of joy, knowing that Kathleen would want just that for anyone she knew, and particularly for those she loved dearest.
After all these years I will never forget her sweet and generous nature, infectious smile, and zest for life. She truly had an impact on me.
With Warmest Regards and Heart Felt Condolences

Kathleen or Beaner as we knew her was the love of our neighborhood. Our family were close friends growing up in San Jose.
Our thoughts and prayers have been with both families the last nine years.
God Bless all of you

Kathleen was a dear colleague at WSGR and I was so saddened to learn of her passing. Even on a tough day, it was impossible to stay grumpy when Kathleen was around with her spectacular smile and easy, infectious laugh. I can clearly recall the arrival of both of her beautiful daughters and the pure joy she experienced in being their mom. I am in awe of the bottomless strength, courage and love that Kathleen and her loved ones embodied during their long battle with such a terrible injury.
My deepest condolences to Kathleen's family and her extended circle of loved ones, friends and colleagues. I wish you peace.

The moment I remember most is her wedding day when leaving the Mission. She was getting into the horse drawn buggy with Mike's assistance when it tipped back slightly. She let out a little scream and then flashed her beautiful smile. That smile is something I will always remember.
