Sorry about your loss. I knew both your mum and dad when your dad and I were in Scouting together at the Amherst Scout Troop and I believe I am the only surviving member of that group. Many fond memories of days gone by.

I am another retired teacher and former colleague of Bill Dickie’s from Rosemount High School who has fond memories of his Mother’s support for teachers when it most counted. I also have very special memories of having been a student in one of Bill’s Physics classes in Grade 12 at the High School of Montreal. It was a true pleasure later to be able to call him both colleague and friend at Rosemount High School. To this day, there is a plaque on the wall outside his classroom in his memory. In 2007, I was able to include a tribute, with photo, to Bill by including, in the Yearbook, a reminder of who he was and what he did. To this day, the family legacy lives on in the form of Graduation bursaries in both Physics and Music. Among veteran staff members, Mrs. Dickie is fondly remembered for her caring support of the RHS community and teachers. I offer my condolences to the family. I, also, wish to express my gratitude and respect for both Bill and his Mother. They have indeed enriched the lives of many.

I am a retired Rosemount High School teacher and former colleague of Bill Dickie. There were times when contract disputes led to strikes and picketing outside the school in very inclement weather. Bill and his mother offered refreshments and warm hospitality in their nearby home which I will never forget. I remember Mrs. Dickie as very sweet and supportive and Bill as a gentle, caring teacher and colleague and am proud to say his legacy lives on at Rosemount. My condolences to the family on the loss of their wonderful matriarch but I hope you will accept as well my gratitude for the role these two have played in enriching the lives of many.

Mrs. Dickie was such a lady; a sweet. gentle soul. She was always very positive in her outlook on life.
Our sincerest condolences.
