Kathleen Kershetsky

Kathleen Kershetsky, 90, of Delano, passed away Monday at home surrounded by her family.

She was the widow of Walter T. Kershetsky, who passed away in 1986.

She grew up in Mahanoy City, a daughter of the late Irene Scanlon Cook. She is fondly remembered by area residents as she owned and operated the Delano Drug Store for more than 50 years.

She loved her family and a special joy was cooking for everyone at family get-togethers.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gary and James Cook.

Surviving are children, Bonnie and her husband, Charles Remaly, Ashland, Irene and her husband, Paul Walters, Mahanoy City, John and Debbie Kershetsky, Mahanoy City, and Kathy Kershetsky and fiance, John Sabitis, Delano; grandchildren, Missy and John Honus, Christy and Brian Senglar, Paul and Irene Walters Jr., John Kershetsky Jr., Scott Kershetsky and Neal Kershetsky; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Carly Honus, Kaylee Senglar and Thiere Kershetsky; and a sister, Nancy Moore, Frackville.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Donations may be made in her name to the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, Box 332, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Lamar Christ Funeral Home, Hometown, is in charge of arrangements.
