Kathleen Morgan Obituary

"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord"…. Being a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Kathleen Morgan, age 85 of Mount Holly, North Carolina saw to it that her house served the Lord. Ms Morgan passed away at her grandson's home on Monday, May 16, 2016 in Tabor City, North Carolina. She loved to cook and to can fruits and vegetables from the garden, loved the outdoors and to fish, to talk and to sing, and loved being active in her church.

Kathleen was the daughter of the late Frank Morgan and Minnie Ussery Morgan. She was preceded in death by one daughter; Nettie Kathleen Duncan, seven sisters: Carrie Flowers, Margaret Stafford, Dorine Norwood, Elizabeth Jane Morgan, Mildred Thomas, Nell Bell and Gladys Mosteller, and also three brothers: Frank Morgan Jr., James Willard Morgan and Roy Morgan.

Those left to cherish Kathleen's memories are her daughter Frances D. Chappell; her son Marty Duncan both of Tabor City, North Carolina; two sisters: Amanda "Pat" Roland and Malvine Roland both of Dallas, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Angel C. Jonas of Mount Holly, North Carolina, Billy Chappell of Tabor City, North Carolina, Mary Beth Housand and Tina D. Berryhill of Dallas, North Carolina; and many great grandchildren also survive.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Independent Full Gospel Church, 1206 Rosewood Drive, Dallas, North Carolina 28034 with Reverend Willard "Buck" Whitted to deliver words of comfort to her family and friends. Active pallbearers are Ray Wooten, Todd Small, Roy Stafford, Jim Scronce, Andy Morgan, and Chris Morgan.

Graveside and committal service will follow at Long Creek Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
