Kathleen Christina "Kathy" Murray

Kathleen Christina Murray, known affectionately as Kathy, passed away on September 14, 2024, at the age of 40 in Fraziers Bottom, West Virginia. Born on March 17, 1984, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Thomas James Wallace and Gaytha Janine Schneider, and granddaughter to the late Margaret Mary Wallace.

Kathy was a vibrant and outgoing individual who thrived in social settings, truly embodying the spirit of a social butterfly. Her career as a social worker for the state of West Virginia was a source of great joy and fulfillment for her, reflecting her deep commitment to the well-being of others.

She leaves behind her daughters, Lillian and Christina Murray of Hurricane, WV, and stepdaughter, McKenzie Murray of Tennessee. Kathy is also survived by her siblings: Aubry Shackelford and his wife Jean of Massachusetts, Laura Giove and her husband Mark of Massachusetts, Janet Cava and her husband Jimmy of Barboursville, WV, and William Wallace and his wife Cassie of Fraziers Bottom, WV. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews: Sarah, Allison, Alex, Mason, Louden, Lawson, Mattea, JT, Jack, Julie, Ricky, Fylix, Kynsley, Alayna, and Sawyer. Her extended family included numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who will miss her dearly.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Thomas James Wallace, her mother, Gaytha Janine Schneider, her grandmother, Margaret Mary Wallace, and her brother, John Thomas Wallace.

While there are no memorial services planned, a celebration of Kathy's life will be held at a later date. The Snodgrass Funeral Home of South Charleston, West Virginia, is assisting the family during this time. Kathy's legacy of love, care, and vibrant spirit will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
