I knew Kathie from when I was at The Hooksett Banner. She submitted historic photos for us to run. I didn't know her well, but I knew her well enough to be able to say that Hooksett has lost a treasure, someone who truly knew the town's history. She will be terribly missed.

I knew Kathie at Underhill school and one day we reconnected at Robie's store about the time that we both had retired. When I mentioned that I was interested in the history of Hooksett she was very helpful with information and a pleasure to talk with. We kept in touch through email and occasionally on the phone. Kathie was a dedicated person and a hard worker who had the respect of all who knew her. I will miss my friend.

Kathie was an amazing person and advocate for preserving the history of Hooksett. I'm not sure what we'll do without her. Her passing is a great loss to the town and everyone who knew her. Be at peace, Kathie - you've left a tremendous legacy.

I was so sorry to learn of Kathie's passing. We go way back in time and I so admired her work in promoting and saving so many things in Hooksett. She and I would talk about all the history we had in common. She was an amazing cheerleader for the Town of Hooksett and she will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Kathie. We were good friends in elementary and high school. Our many trips to Hampton Beach and many Thursday nights (Her mother would drop us off by the lake and we’d walk down Hanover Street to Elm Street). We lost touch, and about a year ago I commented on a Hooksett fb page about her great work for Hooksett and said, ‘Mothe’ would be so proud. She didn’t recognize my married name but recognized who I was because I was one of the few that knew her endearing name for her mother. We did share some wonderful memories. Rest In Peace dear Kathie

I've known Kathie all my life. We grew up as next door neighbors. She was a HUGE advocate for the Town of Hooksett and she would spend hours researching things, making sure Historical Markers were in place in the Town, and SAVING Buildings that would potentially be torn down. The town will have a hard time replacing her shoes. Rest in Peace Kathie. Phyllis (Dlugosz) Heaney

The Town of Hooksett has lost "a treasure". Her devotion to the community is her legacy. She was a crusader & possessed the desire to make things happen. it's been said that no one can ever be forgotten as long as her name is mentioned--Kathie will LONG BE REMEMBERED. We offer our sympathies and God bless her beautiful heart.

I had known Kathie through her work with the town over the past 10 years but had the distinct honor of working with her on the Brick Kiln signage for the Hooksett Riverwalk Trail over the past year. Kathie was the driving force behind this project (as she was with many others in Hooksett). She was meticulous in getting every detail absolutely verified and correct. I loved her sense of humor and will greatly miss our emails and phone calls. Her depth and breadth of knowledge regarding our history and heritage was unsurpassed. We were already planning the next project. RIP my dear friend.

Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to Kathie's family. She was a thoughtful, considerate and responsible member of the community. Kathie was always ready to learn and listen but also step up and take action. She encouraged me to take action and embrace history as we look forward to the future. She will always be a treasure of Hooksett. A true role model of a citizen, she will be missed.

I was so sad to hear the news about Kathie. Hooksett has lost a dedicated individual who loved the town of Hooksett. Her mission was to be sure history was living in the community as evident by the historical road signs, the living history programs, and the refurbished buildings.
The Head School was a prime example of her efforts and hard work. I had the privilege of being a schoolmarm under her encouragement to present an authentic living history program for the Hooksett children. Kathie indeed has left a lasting impression on the town. She will be missed.

OMG I didn't realize that Kathy had passed. A caring and beautiful person, always sent me an e-mail on my birthday. Before I went into the service, myself, George Stachokas, Jim Tsiatios, Gary Attala, Marie Mollomo, and many of her friends from Central would meet at the Puritan on weekends. R.I.P. and God Bless Angie Manni

Saddened to hear of this loss of a beautiful person. Had the pleasure of serving with her on the Hooksett Heritage Commission. Her passion and commitment to Hooksett is unmatched. She literally put Hooksett on the map! Talented, Humble. Sweet. Friend. Rest easy now, Kathie Hooksett is forever indebted to your work.

Kathie and I were best friends back in grade school. We hadn't had contact in decades when she started historical work on my childhood home. My brothers and I provided what information we could and we were thrilled when the house was SAVED! Throughout she worked diligently and then facilitated a chance to meet the new owners and get a tour. We had promised to meet soon to "catch-up" on the years we missed and I was SO looking forward to it! I will forever be grateful for her friendship, her passion for history, and her foresight to re-connect after so many years. If only she could have had more time...
