Kathleen Rains Obituary
Kathleen Ann “Kathy” Rains of Mercer passed away unexpectedly, Sunday January 31, 2021, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh PA. She was 76.
Kathy was born May 22, 1944 in Wilmar, California to the late James and Gerry Kimble.
Kathy married Tom (Sid) Rains on March 29, 1965. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2011.
Through the years Kathy was employed by Mercer Diner, the Village Restaurant, The Malt Shoppe, Pizza Joes all of Mercer, and lastly retired from the cafeteria at Mercer Area Jr./Sr. High School. Kathy loved to cook and visiting with regular customers.
Kathy enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, collecting Coca Cola memorabilia, and rarely missed a night of bingo at the East End Fire Department and Knights of Columbus of Mercer.
Surviving are a daughter, Anna (Ken) Rabold and a son Terry (Melissa) Rains, all of Mercer. Two sisters, Jeanette Dodson, Palmdale, CA, and Virginia Blachley, Friday Harbor, WA., three grandchildren, Nikki Kosior of Greenville, Zak Lutz and Molly Lutz of Mercer, and two great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Molly.
There will be no visitation. Burial was at Mercer Citizens Cemetery, Mercer, PA.
