HOLYOKE Kathryn G. (Kennedy) Barry, 89, of Holyoke, died Monday June 15, 2015 at Mount Saint Vincent Care Center. Kathryn was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (O'Connor) Kennedy and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She worked for the Holyoke School Department, was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, and a member of the Holyoke Council on Aging & Senior Citizens. Kathryn was predeceased by her husband William T. Barry, and a son James Barry. She is survived by her children William, Timothy, and Jerome Barry, all of Houston, Texas, and Eileen Marceau of South Hadley. She leaves eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a sister-in-law Dorothy Dupuis of Chicopee. Besides her husband and son, Kathryn was predeceased by her siblings Mary Garvey, Eileen Walz, Thomas "Lefty" Kennedy, and Raymond Kennedy. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery. A calling hour will be held prior to Mass from 10:00 to 11:00am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: South Hadley Council on Aging Caregivers Gift Account for Alzheimer's Support Group, 45 Dayton St., South Hadley, MA 01075

Mrs. Barry was a very nice lady and I will always hold fond memories of she and Mr. Barry. I know they are together in a wondeful place and that the "Sheehan Drive" section of Heaven continues to be a happy one. God Bless them and my heartfelt prayers extend to Timmy and her family.
