Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 26, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister Kathryn Alyce Dennett (Gillis) of Braintree, Massachusetts on June 25, 2025.

Kate was born on March 25, 1958 in Boston, Massachusetts and was the oldest daughter of the late Leo J. Gillis and Marguerite T. Dennett.

She attended Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston and went on to study Psychology and Sociology at Northeastern University. Kate had an entrepreneurial spirit and wore many hats in her lifetime. She was also a devoted caregiver to our mother later in life.

Kate is survived by her sister Lee Ann Shea and husband Dennis Shea of Rockland, Massachusetts, her sister Sandra Gillis of Richmond, Virginia, her nephews Anthony Chirico and his wife Dora Pena and Scott Shea, her nieces Lisa Mohs and Jillian Flynn and her husband Joe Flynn. She was predeceased by her nephew Matthew Shea. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews Alissa and Avery Mohs and Anthony, Riley and Ronan Flynn.

Kate was a spiritual person. She had a passion for cooking and reading. She loved animals and our beautiful planet earth.

A private service will be held to honor her memory.
