I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Kay from the kidney cancer list. Although we never met in person, it was obvious from her postings that she was a very caring, compassionate person. She was always there to offer support, advice and encouragement to others. She will be missed. And you, her family, will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Warmest regards,

Terri Skeoch

Dear Houk Family,

Mrs. Houk was such a wonderful, funny lady and a vibrant spirit. One of our first experiences together was finding substitute roses from a local grocery store for Honey's wedding when the florist delivered the wedding flowers to the wrong wedding. And the wedding ceremony was beautiful.

It was a pleasure to know her. She had a sweet love for animals and children. We are so happy we were able to see her and Mr. Houk and for her to meet Brooke and Andrew recently in Denver. We will miss her and I am sure you will feel her strong presence with you always.

Love,

Lori and Andy Beggins

Cliff, I am sad to learn of your mom's passing. Words from freinds like myself, well meaning as they may be intended, provide little comfort at this time. I want you to know my hope is that soon you can reflect on those special moments during better times spent with your mother and they bring a smile to face and joy to your heart. My thoughts remain with you and your family.

Cliff and family

Kay will always be in our thoughts as the laughing, fun-loving girl from our school days, driving around in her red convertible. She truly loved life in a way that brightened it for those around her. We will keep her in our prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I met Kay through Heidi and she was so kind and so engaging. Kay was the kind of person you met and felt like you knew all your life. I even still remember her chicken salad and how she kept making more and more b/c we liked it so much at the beach house. I will try to make it for the memorial and know that my prayers are for your peace and for your comfort. Much love, Maiya

I never had the pleasure of meeting Kay. However, I feel like I know a part of her through her daughter Heather. From that, I know Kay was a wonderful person. Her memory will forever light up Heather's life!

I will always remember Kay as being one of the first of Joe's friends to welcome me to Springfield. She jokingly said,"So you are the little Turk that Joe married". You see, Joe and I were married in Turkey while he was in the military service. We became good friends from then on enjoying family, league and sailing. She was a lovely and gracious lady. Joe and I will always remember her vibrant spirit and beautiful smile. We will miss you Kay.
