Kathryn Arnold Womack

Kathryn "Kathy" Womack passed away July 20, 2022, after a protracted battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Throughout the course of her illness, Kathryn maintained her fighting spirit and sense of self, displaying the same humility, courage and tenacity that helped her to overcome the many hurdles in her life and allowed her to achieve success.

A divorced single parent at 41, Kathryn enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington and attended classes full-time even as she worked full-time as an accountant. Upon graduation, she passed the IRS Enrolled Agent exam and immediately opened her own tax preparation and representation practice, which she owned and operated for 35 years. Kathy was fiercely loyal to her clients and capably represented many of them right up to the doors of the U.S. Federal Tax Court. She later received the Charles Goodnight Enrolled Agent of the Year Award from the Texas Society of Enrolled Agents, which recognizes a member who demonstrates exceptional service and leadership. But she found more reward in the fact that many of her clients trusted her with their tax affairs for more than 20 years.

A fan of the arts and sciences, Kathryn was a member of most Ft. Worth and Austin museums, held season tickets to the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra for many years, and patronized local theatre, serving on the board of the fledgling Arlington Repertory Theatre. A certified reiki practitioner, she especially loved giving treatments to her clients' pets and traveling the globe learning new techniques. She was an avid baker, making beautiful frosted cakes and teaching classes in cake decoration. She was also an excellent seamstress and enjoyed fashion, sewing most of her own clothing from Vogue patterns.

Kathryn is survived by daughter Jennette, son John and his wife Angi, son Tom, grandchildren Emily, Justin, and Candice and her husband Zack, great-grandchildren Tristen, Brye, Zoey, and Rowan, brothers Chip and Robert, cousins, and several treasured friends of many years.

A celebration of Kathryn's life and reception will take place Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 2pm at Restland Funeral Home, located at 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas. A dedicated supporter of nature and the outdoors, Kathryn served for a time as a docent at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and requested that her remains be used to provide life and nourishment to the trees, wildflowers, bees, birds and butterflies she championed throughout her life.
