Kathy Marie Doel

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter and sister, Kathy Marie Doel, 53, who died on June 19, 2025, at her home in Redondo Beach, California, with her cherished companion, her fur baby Scarlett, by her side.

Born in Holyoke, MA on May 7, 1972, Kathy was the daughter of the late Pauline (Marcoux) Doel and is survived by her father, Paul Doel, and his wife, Jean. She was the eldest of six siblings, survived by her sister Cristina Welch and her husband Robert, her sister Sabrina Doel, and her youngest sister, April Pinheiro and her husband Mitch. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul J. Doel II (PJ). and her sister Nicole Doel.

Kathy also leaves behind her loving Aunt Louise Lavigne, Uncle Edward Marcoux and his wife Kim, Aunt Cindy Doel, Uncle Robert Doel and his wife Peggy, along with many cousins she adored: Jamie DuPuis and his wife Nicole, Christopher Lavigne and his wife Cindy. Brandon, Jonathan and his wife Kayla, and Daniel. Kathy was predeceased by her Uncles William Lavigne, Stephen Doel, and Aunt Dina Chaples. She also leaves behind a large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews who brought her so much joy.

Kathy was deeply loved by her two dearest friends, Coleen Mullowney and Jil Mastrisciano, who stood by her through every chapter of her life.

True to her free spirit, Kathy lived the life of a gypsy-her adventurous heart taking her across the country and beyond. From Martha's Vineyard to St. Thomas, Vail CO, Montclair NJ, Miami FL, Cambridge MA, Hermosa Beach, and finally Belmont Shore and Redondo Beach CA, she called many places home. She was always drawn to the ocean, and its rhythm matched her vibrant, soulful energy.

Kathy had a magnetic personality-her presence lit up a room, and her bold spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She lived life fully and enjoyed it immensely. Her journey was uniquely her own, and she walked it with strength, independence, and passion.

Over the years, Kathy wore many hats-working in restaurants, real estate, and interior design, always willing to take on new challenges and embrace new experiences. But above all, her heart belonged to her beloved dog Scarlett, whose love and companionship brought her immeasurable comfort and joy.

Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She touched countless lives with her kindness, boldness, and beautiful spirit. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A private burial will be held with family and friends to be announced at a later date.
