Kathy HYGAARD Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy Hygaard, a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Kathy was born in Edmonton, Alberta on February 6, 1965 to David and Patricia Hygaard the 3rd of their 5 children. Kathy passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2017 at her home in Airdrie, Alberta. Kathy is survived by her Son, Jesse Hygaard; her Parents; Sisters, Debbie and Karen; Brothers David Jr and Tom; as well as numerous Aunts and Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Kathy's Celebration of Life will be held on May 29 at 11 a.m. at the Sherwood Park Alliance Church, 1011 Clover Bar Road. Because of Kathy's strong love of animals, we ask that donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue Society in her memory.

Kathy , so positive and beautiful with the kindest heart. You are gone to soon. Kathy was my best freind through elementary school and into junior high and remained a good freind there after. Even if we had not spoken for sometime , when we did it seemed like no time had passed. We were kindred spirits as children with our love for horses and all animals. When we were young we would go on long walks out into the country side and pet horses , make friends with stray dogs and just appreciate nature. Kathy always cared deeply for all animals and was a true guardian to them. She adopted and nurtured injured birds to be released later. She was a defender of wildlife from Magpies to foxes. She had an endless energy when it came to defending and helping helpless creatures.Kathy loved with all her heart. She loved her family and friends and wished nothing but happiness for everyone. She was a sensitive, caring soul. I will miss her but never forget her as she has always had a special place in my heart and in my memories .

Mr. & Mrs. Hygaard and Family....To us, Kathy was a presence and one of a kind. She could fill a room with laughter with her quirky sense of humor and possessed an immense love of family, friends and all creatures, great and small.
