Dear Jane, Monica, and families,
Our hearts go out to you at this sad time. To have such amazing daughters, who are themselves terrific mothers, is a testament to what a wonderful woman your mother was. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and you at this sad time.

Monica & Jane,
Your mother was a wonderful and caring woman and will be deeply missed. I made an attempt to write this without any reference to your mom’s cooking, but I found that effort very difficult. The first time I met Jane and Monica’s mother was 1986, and it was Spicy Peanut Chicken, Wontons, Beef and Broccoli, and Rice, Rice, Rice. The smell of rice reminds of your mother. Loved all of it, and I miss all of it.
I can remember asking Jane how her mother can make that chicken so perfect and tender, and Jane telling me two things, it is about the right amount of heat, and you don’t need to stir it so much… just let it cook.
… and that is what Kat did, providing an enormous amount of love, and stirring the pot when needed, raising two beautiful and loving daughters, and helping them raise two amazing families. It is a sad time for everyone, especially the little ones, and in the beautiful images you provided us with, it is obvious that she loved all of you so much, and had so much joy at the end of her life. I am thankful she was able to enjoy that, and I believe she is looking down and watching over all of you as a very proud Mother and Grandmother. Kat, rest in peace, and don’t make it too spicy!

I didn’t know Kathy as well as I would have liked to but I do know that she was a beautiful woman - inside and out - who left us much too soon.

Monica and Jane, we are so saddened by the loss of your Mom. Kat was a wonderful person. Of course, our "food" remembrance of Kat is her homemade egg rolls at Christmas. Remember all the wonderful memories you have and hope it eases your pain. Wishing you both peace and strength during this difficult time.

Monica and Jane-
My heart goes out to both of you. I know this will be a difficult time. It is true, your mom always had a smile on her face whenever I saw her. I hope you will always remember her with her smile. Take care of yourselves and wrap yourself up in hugs from your kids. That always makes me feel better when I am sad.
Jared and I both send our love, thoughts and prayers to you and your entire family.
Love,
Lisa, Jared, Eli and Zoe

Monica, Jane and families,
Forever in our Hearts~
God looked around His Garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon His earth and saw your loving face. He saw your path was difficult and He closed your weary eyes. He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.
My deepest sympathy for your loss.
She lives within your hearts and memories and is always with you. May that give you hope and comfort to remember and hold onto her love for it will always be with you.

Kathy was an angel walking on this earth. She was always loving and had a beautiful smile. Although we were miles apart and didn't get to see each other as much as I would of liked, I felt very close to her. Go with God now, my sister-in-law,and friend... you're in good hands.
Love, Kathy, Eddie and Kevin

My love and prayers are with you all!! Jane, my fondest memory of your mom was when she made wonton soup in the middle of the night at one of your parties. She was looking around at us (we may have been drinking a few beers) and said, "you all need soup!" and off she went to the grocery store to get everything she needed. She came back, whipped it up and told us that we'd all feel better in the morning if we ate some. I thought she was so sweet and funny to make us eat soup in the middle of the night, but that night she single handedly created my love for wonton soup. And although I eat it often, it is never as good as your mom’s…I could distinctly taste her love as I ate anything she made. If there is cooking in heaven, some spirits are going to be really happy that she’s home. May she rest in peace! Love, Maryn
