Kathy Pavlovich
January 6, 1930-February 15, 2021
Mom is gone. And what a sad day it is for her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her friends and family! What a loss to all who knew her (and there were
many!) but what a benefit to all our souls she was.
She was born January 6th, 1930 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of Denis and Catherine (Driscoll) Murphy. She was the oldest of 8 children. In 1962, Kathleen Murphy was raising Denis and Kathy in San Francisco, the city where she was born, and the place she loved. It was then that she met a man, Robert Pavlovich, who himself was also at a crossroads with life and had left his hometown, Butte Montana looking for something, he knew not what. They met each other on one of those days in '62, at a place called Gene and Franks in San Francisco.
From here we know the story: Boy meets girl, love takes root and blooms. They married in Reno on August17th of that year and before you know it, they pulled into the driveway at 1607 "C" Street in Butte about a week later. Her kids, Kathy and Denis, met his kids, Bobby, Marcy, and Julie, in the driveway and the bonds were quick and permanent.
Her life, his life, and their kids' lives intertwined with yours and your kids and so started her "Wonderful Life"! John came in '63, Maureen in '66, followed by a bigger house, and her job at the Whittier School as the school secretary for 25 years.
Her care and concern for each student remains in the memories of many of the children who went to Whittier, long after they became adults themselves. Her co-workers from the Whittier school, priceless, loyal, and forever!
When she retired the friendships only deepened. The chicken fix, grandkids, travel, great
grandkids, weddings, more weddings. Kathy was willing to try nearly everything! Believe it or
not I saw her use an outhouse, shoot a rifle, and ride in a small boat!
Her later years were rich with family and friends. It was always hard for her to see her friends
go, she was so attached to them. She loved, loved, loved and was very generous.
People live their lives, and they pass away. What did they do that would last when they were
gone? Kathy lived with conviction, compassion, strength .. Beauty! Let that be our legacy as
well.
She is survived by her husband, sister Jean McKevitt and her brother Jerry (Jane) Murphy. She is also survived by daughters Kathy (Paul) Ozanne, Marcy (Steve) Mc Arthur, Maureen (Rob) Stepan and Julie Tellez, sons Denis (Joyce) Gardella and John (Michelle) Pavlovich. She will be missed by her 13 grandchildren: Desiree, Paul, Cort, Marissa, Lillian, Jenny, Peter, Rebekah, Emily, Jared, Morgan, Chase and Owen. And her 21 great grandchildren: Wyatt, Colter, Hudson, Evelyn, Eli, Asher, Noah, Max, Lucy, Jonathan, Daniel, Trudy, Beckett, Caris, Molly, Elim, Jacob, Sam, Logan and Riley and Jatanna.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday after 11:00am at St. Ann's Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00pm in the Church. Please observe all local Social Distancing Regulations. Masks are required and limited seating due to Covid-19.

I´m so sorry for your great, deep loss. Kathy was a very nice secretary when i was at Whittier, i started there October of my 2nd grade year. She was so kind to me and my big sister Brenda. She took me to the nurse, Ione McCarthy (whom i am still friends with) and asked her to walk me around the school and to show me my classroom, and, introduce me, and she took my sister Brenda to do the same. I always have remembered her warmth that day. Thank you, Mrs. Pavlovich. John also was my classmate there. Thank you for sharing her life with us through her obituary , i really enjoyed reading it. Prayers of comfort and peace. diane Lane Snyder and all the Lane and Tucker children she helped. At Whittier (My siblings)
