Wane and Doug, I am so sorry to read about your sweet mother“s passing. I have many memories from Associated church and your family. Unfortunately I am not going to be in town on Saturday so I will not be able to attend. Thinking of you both.

Kay was a fun and generous person who was so kind to my mother, Betty Freeland, when Mom was living on her own during her winter visits to Galveston. Kay included Mom in card games, restaurant outings, and visits to concerts. It was always fun to join the Sunday morning brunches at By the Sea. Kay and other Galveston friends came to visit Mom and me several times in Houston for some fun outings to thrift stores and restaurants. Mom and I send deepest sympathy to all of Kay's family. Kay was my first friend in Galveston. I met her at Curves. She was wearing a Lake Superior Tshirt so I thought she just might be from the Midwest. I asked her to go to the Grand Opera House birthday party with me that afternoon, and she replied, "YES".
We were friends from then on, sharing many wonderful adventures
