Kay F. Barnett

Kay F. Barnett, age 61, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 1:54 p.m. at Freeman West Hospital. Kay was born March 25, 1948, in Monett, Mo., daughter of the late David and Ruby Hayes Barnett. Kay graduated from Joplin High School and was a former member of the Joplin Eagles Lodge where she was a former secretary and treasurer of the Eagles Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Barnett; and a sister, Ann Carney. Survivors include a son, Justin Scott Barnett, of Joplin; brothers, Mark Barnett, of Butterfield, Mo., Mike Barnett and Gary Barnett, both of Monett; sisters, Vickie Pancake, Joplin, and Penny Barnett, of Fayetteville, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel. Kay was taken for cremation and private inurnment of her ashes will be at a later date in Sparks Cemetery, near Monett. Online condolences may be made at parkermortuary.com
