Kay Stefan Capps died on October 28, 2025 at the age of 65. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, 10:00 am at St Mary's Catholic Center in the New/Dome Church. A reception will immediately follow in the Activity Center, until 12:30 pm.

Kay was born in Wildflecken, Germany on January 3, 1960. After graduating Diboll High School in 1979, moving to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Kay and friend Kevin Sherry started Capsher Technology together in 1994, growing it into a successful company making a difference for clients across the world. Kay truly cherished and took pride in his meaningful and impactful relationships with each member of the company, their families, and clients both home and abroad.

He strove to make a difference in everything he did. He connected and cared deeply about everyone he met. He challenged people to reach their highest potential, and loved having long, tough conversations with anyone willing to discuss their "why."

A devout Catholic with deep and consistent faith, he was thoughtful, considerate, and caring with a strong desire to share the joys and beauty of God's gift of life with family, friends and acquaintances. Kay was preceded in death by his father Joe Albert Capps, and is survived by mother Christa Reulbach Capps of Diboll, TX, sister Angela Foote, her husband Earl of Cypress, TX, sister Carmen Nerren, her husband Lamar and daughter Helena of Lufkin, TX. Kay was married for 20+ years, and is survived by ex-wife Catherine Bright Capps, as well as their children Amber "Nikki" Norton, her husband Josh and children Ella Nicole, Joshua Kyle, and Laney Annalise of College Station, and Jonathan Capps, his wife Katharine and children Grayson Rose, William Kay, and Lily Vaughn of Brock, TX. Kay later married and is survived by his high school sweetheart Carolyn Cheavens Capps in 2017, reuniting after decades and growing the family with surviving step-children Justin Chance, his wife Rachel and children Cooper and Aubree of College Station, TX, and Brittney Smith, her husband Aaron and children Max and Caroline of Huntsville, TX.

Kay and Carolyn found great joy in world travel, family gatherings, fellowship with friends near and far, and constant dinner parties featuring scratch-made feasts with varied guests where there was a guarantee of the drinks flowing, food going, and stories growing.

He was quietly generous, but loudly in love with Our God, the blessing of this life, and all it had to offer.
