Phillips, Kay, Karolyn Hart Kay Karolyn (Bitson) Phillips passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Kay was born in Muskegon on May 27, 1939 to Edward & Violet Bitson. She married Glenn (Sonny) Phillips, Jr. on August 31, 1957 and celebrated 60 years of marriage prior to Glenn passing away on October 4, 2017. Kay was caring, polite, honest, and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed gardening, keeping a well-kept home and loved to visit with anyone. She truly had the gift of conversations. She enjoyed her family and adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Kay is survived by: her daughters, Daughn Phillips, and Debbie (Butch) Nichols both of Muskegon; and her son, Gary (Mary Lou) Phillips of Hart; grandchildren, Mike (Becky) Riddle of Cheney, Washington, Amanda Flores, and Angela Nichols, both of Muskegon; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by: her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene (Eddie) Michels; brother & sister-in-law, Ray (Della) Bitson; brothers, Don Bitson and Louis "Bud" (Joyce) Bitson; and grandson, Jason Nichols. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday October 19, 2022 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave, Muskegon MI 49442. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. A private Interment will be at Hart Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association. If sent to the funeral home, the family will be notified of your contribution.
