Kaye M. Martin

Cross Hill - Kaye M. Martin, 79 passed away peacefully at home Saturday, November 30, 2024. Born in Gaffney, SC to the late Alfred Cleveland Martin and Geneva Cash Martin, she was a graduate of Gardner Webb University, and continued her education at Winthrop University until she moved to Spartanburg for a job opportunity. After she married and had her children she decided to open a craft store, The Cheese Box where she specialized in picture framing. After the store closed in the mid 80s, she began her career as an executive legal secretary at Denny's headquarters where she devoted 25 years to the company. She was passionate about playing the organ and piano, reading anything she could get her hands on, cross stitching and baking. No one made better desserts! Her smile was infectious and she was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. Kaye was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Oscar James Martin. Survived by her brother Gary Martin (Lynn), her three children, James Brent Martin, Melanie Martin Collett, Leslie Martin Pittman (Bryan) as well as seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
