Kaymania S. Catta

HAMPTON, Va. - Our treasured Kaymania Serenity "Kay Kay" Catta was gift to us while stationed at Pope Air Force Base, N.C. on Sept. 20, 2005, at 4:10 a.m. Born at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, N.C., Kaymania went on to reside with her family in North Carolina. Two years after the family was blessed with her grace and presence, the Catta family relocated to Valdosta, Ga., where the family would learn of her diagnosed autism. Kaymania went on to flourish in school at Pine Grove Elementary, where she made many friends and admirers. Upon receiving military orders, the family then returned to North Carolina, where Kaymania attended Ponderosa Elementary. With the ending of her father's military overseas tour, the family was then stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, where Kaymania briefly attended George Phenix Elementary School. On Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, Kaymania was called home to be with our Lord. She was a bright star who brought light to the Catta family. Her smile would melt anyone's heart, and she will be missed dearly. Her mom, Natasha M. Brathwaite-Catta; her dad, Massif S. Catta; two sisters, Neyandra X. and Jayzahra E. Catta; her grandparents, Elsa Penn, Paulette Rawlins, Bobby Brathwaite and Twlumah Catta; and many other family and friends all love and mourn the loss of sweet little Kay Kay. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Newport News.
