In Loving Memory of Keith Alan Abiney

February 28, 1963 - August 7, 2025

On August 7, 2025, surrounded by love, Keith Alan Abiney laid down his tools, set aside his fishing rod, and took his final journey home. He was 62 years old.

Born on February 28, 1963, to Patrick and Doris Abiney, Keith lived a life full of purpose, passion, and quiet strength. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying the discipline, courage, and loyalty he learned there into every part of his life.

Keith had a gift for working with his hands and his heart. He loved to fly fish in peaceful streams, to walk the fields in search of birds with the crisp air in his lungs, to coax life from the soil in his garden, and to build things that would last. Whatever he created-whether it was a finely crafted project, a flourishing row of tomatoes, or a perfect cast into the current-he poured himself into it fully.

Above all, Keith was a devoted husband, family man, and friend. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Alisa Abiney, building not just a home but a partnership filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. His presence was steady, his advice sound, and his heart open to all who needed him.

Keith is survived by his wife, Alisa; his parents, Patrick and Doris Abiney; his siblings, Cindy Lavell and Kevin Abiney; his brother- and sister-in-law Mike and Jennifer White; his brother- and sister-in-law Robert and Rebecca Howe; his mother-in-law, Janet Howe; and his nieces and nephews, Alan and Megan Kline, Mark and Jessica Pelfrey, Marie White, and Ian White.

His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his love and the lessons he taught will live on in those who had known him.

A remembrance gathering will be held at the Dowagiac Lions Club House, 28606 Blue Bird Street, Dowagiac, Michigan on Sunday September 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Keith by spending a day outdoors-planting something new, building something with your hands, or simply pausing to breathe in the beauty of the world, just as he so often did.
