Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 2 to Aug. 10, 2015.
BLACKSTONE - Keith A. Chipman, 75, of Blackstone, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 31, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of Janet C. (Burkowske) Chipman.

Born in Milbridge, Maine on May 12, 1940, he was the son of the late Philip A. Chipman and Harriet V. (Dorr) Curry of Taunton and her late husband, Richard Curry. He was the loving father of Robert K. Chipman and his wife, Cathy, David A. Chipman and his wife, Jacqueline, Laurie A. Tedeschi and her husband, William all of Blackstone, Karen J. Blanchette and her husband, Christopher of Woonsocket. He leaves his cherished 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of Richard M. Curry of Raynham, MA, Sandra J. Pond, of Taunton, Philip A. Chipman, Jr., Mark A. Chipman, Cheryl A. Dorr, Brenda Davis, Debra Alley, Diane Curtis, all of Maine, and the late Leroy Chipman.

Keith was a resident of Blackstone for almost 50 years formerly of Taunton and Freeport, Maine, where he was a graduate of Freeport High School Class of 1959. In Maine he worked for his stepfather as a carpenter. When he moved to Massachusetts, he worked for GM as a material handler for over 26 years until the plant closed in 1991. He then worked for the Bellingham School System as a custodian until retiring in 2004. He spent 25 years as a marshal, co-captain then chairman at the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton.

Keith was a life member of both the Millerville Men's Club in Blackstone and the Cercle Laurier in Woonsocket. He played quoits and table shuffleboard at the Cercle Laurier. He enjoyed fires in the backyard, his beautiful flower garden, playing horseshoes, ping-pong and beating the younger generations of family and friends. Keith was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 5 at 11 a.m at Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte. 126), Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
