In memory of

I am truly puzzled. How could the universe not understand we need people as warm, Intelligent and downright Hilarious as Keith Dowd?
I had the outright privilege of logging thousands of windshield miles with Keith in his role as sales manager for various audio manufacturers an I as sales representative.
The good thing was there were lots of mountain roads in a big territory. Meaning, for hours we could take turns sliding and drifting my cars, and generally breaking all kinds of traffic laws together. On those trips we would discuss our love of music, audio gear, our families, and Formula1!
We would laugh so hard we couldn't breath.
Farewell Keith, the miles were too few...

Keith was my first mentor in HiFi. He and Lloyd inspired my life long pursuit of higher performance music reproduction. 40 years later and I still feel his influence. His sense of humor aligned with mine and I learned a lot, even if I didn´t agree with all of his opinions. His pursuit was unflinching and everyone who came in contact with him was better off after being around him. I last saw him at Florida Audio Expo last year and he was sharp and witty and a joy to be around. Our crazy industry has lost a treasure and I will try to carry on his legacy!

Met Keith in Ann Arbor about 40 years ago. Couldn't believe I had another cousin that COOL!!! Stayed in touch the best we could. Always funny conversations about music and stereos.
We will always be grateful to him for coming to my mom's (Mary Dowd Turella) funeral in November 2023. I remembered the conversation we had a day later. He had tears in his eyes talking about Stephanie and his daughters. Especially, the Boston Marathon story.
Keith, God Bless You, your brother Kevin, Stephanie, Sydney, Bailey and your entire family.
Sincerely, Your Cuz,
Mike Turella

I first met Keith in 1992 at Audioport during my freshman year at college. He gave me a Hifi 101 education and sold me a Rotel preamp and power amp combination. It was shortly there after I asked him for a job and began working for him in February 1993.
Included our pictures of Audioport from 1993, a funny limo ride we had at the consumer electronic show in Las Vegas in 1994, a couple of award dinners at CES, and lastly, a picture with John Hiatt at a ProSource event in 2017.
There are simply too many stories to share, especially the funny ones, but Keith definitely affected the course of my life. Keith lead by example! He was a mentor and father figure to me. The only way I know how to thank him is by continuing my success in the audio business, mentoring and teaching the next generation, as well as being a good husband and father to my family as he was with his. I´m so happy I got to tell him how much he meant to me, the influence he had, and that I loved him.
To Stephanie, Bailey, and Sydney, as well as all of the other family members, Shannon and I express our deepest condolences and are in our prayers.

Stephanie, Bailey, Sydney and family. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Keith was always a pleasure to be with at any time. I consider myself honored because the last time I saw Keith he presented to me a `small hand´....whenever I see the hand it always brings a smile to my face. Take care of yourselves because Keith would want it that way!!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. My favorite memory of cousin Keith is snow sledding with him in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at his parents' house. Long hair, Army surplus jacket... I thought he was so cool and funny. We had a great day. I must have been about 9 years old. God bless him.
