I have the opportunity to keep Keith's memory alive through my dear friend, Sinclair Acey, his uncle. Listening to Acey recall stories warmly of love shared between these two exceptional men is timeless. It is a joy to know that as long as his name is said he will be alive. Thanks to his uncle Acey, Keith lives.

I was given FF GLASCO`s name and photo when I ran the Tunnel to Tower race in Vero Beach Saturday. I had to Google him and read about his fantastic life. So sorry that his life was cut much too short. He sure died in service to others. My sincere, albeit belated, condolences to his family.

December 31, 2016

Dear family, I saw Keith's name in a memorial book at the public library in Pico Rivera, CA (outside Los Angeles).

I have prayed for all the souls lost that day, but specially for Keith because I was born in Los Angeles in April 1948 as Rosemary Glascoe (father Richard Joseph Glascoe) and wondered if I could be related to your husband's family? Originally, our name was spelled Glascow, but our dad changed it (unofficially to Glascoe) to save us from teasing once we started school.

I live outside LA county. If you are interested in communicating my address is P.O. Box 342, Skyforest, CA 92385. God Bless your family and may Keith be resting in Heavenly peace in the care of our Lord!

Thinking of you and sending healing thoughts to your family. I'm a social worker / therapist - and I was given Keith's name a few years ago to carry in one of our 9 11 memorial parades here in Portland ME. It was an honor to do this - and I think of you and your family often - especially on this 15 year anniversary. God Bless you all - and may Keith be resting in peace - what a brave man! Take care......

Dear Keith, although I only knew you through working with your mom, She always spoke highly of you. The few times that you and I spoke were very refreshing. As all those who knew you better than me, I agree that your were a Gentle Giant. Thank you for your service and dedication with saving lives. Continue to Rest in Peace. You Will Never Be Forgotten.

15 yrs. later and you are missed as much, maybe more than 2001. We spent the day (Saturday, 9/10) with Veronica and Owen, your 12 mo. old little guy who is now 16 yrs. old, at his second varsity football game. He moves so much like you on the field and displays so much confidence. He is a terrific linebacker. Today he scored the first touchdown in the first quarter, scored a second touchdown and caught a long pass to set up for another touchdown. His team (Massapequa) won 42-12 beating Syosset. He had his first interview with the press but we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what he said since he couldn't remember [or so he said]. He's short on words and long on action. He and his brothers are such a joy to watch because they are you in their own way. Nolan has started his first year of college in Fl. and Keith has started his first year in hi-school. They are following your lead and we are so proud of all of them. Continue to guide and protect them. We love love you and are so glad that you came into our lives 53 yrs. ago. We WILL see you again.
Much love, Mom & Dad

Today I participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb fundraiser. The organizers provide cards of the 9/11 fallen for you to take and pin on while you climb. I grabbed a random card and it was Keith Glascoe. I came home and looked him up and have to say I am very proud to have climbed in honor of a such a strong (literally and figuratively!) and talented man. My heart is with his family. Rest in peace Keith, you are not forgotten.

April 1, 2012

I was watching,"The Professional",and thought of Keith.I didn't go to the "heroes" concert,because I was too sad from Mike Mullen( L-12) funeral to go have"fun". We lost 7 Great Men that day, LtMike/Duff/Gerry/Benny/Keith/Billy/Joe. All 7 guys were incredible men!It's now 11 years,we had a beautifull Mass for guys in Battalion on 9/11/11.
Fond memory of mine, is seeing Keith talking on the phone to his son, allways in the gentle tone!Amazing to see.God takes the best of best 1st!He certainly did from the FDNY on 9/11.Prayers to Veronica and kids! Brian A.

To the Family and Friends of Keith Glascoe - I am thinking about you today, even though I realize you don't know me. My name is Marianne, and I'm a Social Worker in Portland, Maine. Today I participated in a march to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. We were assigned names randomly, and I was honored to carry a sign with Keith's name on it. I wanted to try to find out more about Keith, and found this website. He sounds like he was an amazingly talented and courageous man. My heart goes out to all that knew him - as he was described - a "big man, big heart". I wish all of you some sense of peace and comfort, and the strength to keep on going... There is now a new memorial in Portland, that I live nearby and will pass on a regular basis. I plan to send caring thoughts to Keith's family /friends - and say a prayer for him in memory of his heroic actions.

To the Glascoe family,
May you take solace in knowing the lives Keith touched, and the people he helped, and those who admire the man he was. I too worked at the Sporting Club where I met KG, it was around the time he in hurt at a Jets camp. Keith made, and left a very strong impression. I would love to help in having the Jets honor Keith, if the family has an interest. I am sure that Brandon Steiner, of Steiner Sports, who was the GM of the Sporting Club at that time would want to participate. If the family has an interest please contact me at: [email protected]

To the Glascoe family:
May the consoling words from family and friends continue to strengthen you during this difficult time, and may you find comfort in the words found in the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

May the wonderful memories of your loved one continue to provide a measure of comfort to you--until God's promises are fulfilled. Matthew 5:5; Psalms 37:11, 29

I met Keith in 1st Grade and was in grade school with him up until about the 4th or 5th grade. I remember the first pro football game I went to was with him and his Dad at Shea stadium.
I had lost touch with him for many, many years. I did find out we were going to the same gym about 12 years ago but we never managed to bump into each other. I wish we had.

Today, as I have every year since the first anniversary, I waited and listened for Keith's name. Then I cried. Keith and our son, Horace were friends from elementary school. Even though so many years have passed us by, at times it seems like yesterday they were at Woodward having a great time learning and exploring their world together! May Keith rest in peace. And our love to his parents Gloria and Ben.

Dear Mr. Keith Glascoe,
The definition of a hero to me is a person with courage and is willing to put others needs ahead of theirs. To me that describes you. You were willing to do anything helpful for others, even if it was to run into a burning building and risking your life!

Right now you have a loving wife and 3 children that miss you very much. Nolan, Owen, and your third son that was born after the attack miss you I'm sure. Also, your department misses having you around and the football team needs you to win the games for them. They need a loving and caring person around in the house to cheer them up. You were amazing in the role of Benny in “The Professional”! You are a great actor and that stinks how you got injured and ruined your career. You had a good amount of talent.

You will never be forgotten in this country. On that Tuesday the world lost a great man. You didn’t know what would happen when you woke up that morning, but you were willing to risk your life to save others and that will never be forgotten. I am so thankful for what you did on that day!
Thank you for your services.

Sincerely,
Seth Orlemann

We were strangers on plane. I noticed the cap of a man who rose from the aisle to help a woman with her overhead luggage. It bore the initials: FDNY. I reached over to his wife in the seat next to me and asked, “Is your husband with the New York Fire Department?”
“No,” she said with tears in her eyes, “My son was.” And so began our conversation about you. About your sons. And your family that loves and misses you. About hope that emerges from loss. And about the fates that delivered me to the seat next to your Mother’s on a plane that day. She told me how much she appreciates the little things even more and how much emphasis we put on ‘things’ that don’t matter. She laughed and said that her children and grandchildren wanted her to buy a new cell phone even though hers works fine. And she showed it to me. It was a real dinosaur. In awe, I pulled out my own. It is the very same dinosaur. Make, model, and all. We cried together. And we laughed together. And she inspired me with her heart filled with love where others have hate, hope where others have none. I know you Keith from the loving memories your Mother shared with me and the heart with which she talked about you and your children, your wife, and your work. Even when your physical body is not on this Earth, your spirit continues to bring people together, to bring inspiration, to make friends of strangers on a plane. Maggie McDanal Wroth

It has taken me all this time to sign this book. For that I'm sorry. While I didn't know Keith personally, I knew his Dad Ben very well and heard about him often. We spent many a day and evening together at Con Ed. If he was was anything like Ben he was a good man. It is tough to lose a child, I know I lost mine too. Know that each time I pray and think of Christopher I also think and pray for Keith and family. Stay well and always think of the good times.

Once again the tragedy of 9/11 has struck. Two more of your fellow firefighters perished fighting the fire at the Deutshe building last night. I know you and the other 342 heroes welcomed them with open arms.Those of whom you left behind, hurt just as much for them as we did on 9/11/01. Fri. past, your dad and I [ & Pedro] attended your house's picnic. The guys, and there were many new young faces, are carrying on the work they signed up to do. Many of them retired but attended. The families are growing with lots of new babies. And many are expected before the year ends. Nolan, Owen & Keith had so much fun participating in the fun provided for them by the guys. It truly made Owen's b'day special. Naturally, we talked about you, we always do. We unanimousiously agreed that, we miss you so very much. And once again, we are coming up on the anniversary of your departure and we will be there on the footprints one final time to tell you personally that we miss you, we love you, and we'll never forget what you did.
All my love,
Mom [& Dad]

I didn't know Keith Glascoe personally. He would often shop with his wife at the store where I worked on Kings Highway. She shopped there often with her too small boys. I made small talk with him when he came in with his family. They seemed like such nice young family. I heard way back when from my old boss that he was NY fireman and was a victom of 911. Although I didn't know you ... really at all , but I still feel deeply sorry for your passing. As the 5th year of 911 approaches... I thought of you today out of the blue... I pray for you and your family. Rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.

About a week later, I received a letter in the mail from Gloria with a brief letter and a picture of his beuatiful children. I never had a chance to meet Keith, but I have been wearing a bracelet with his name on it since about three weeks after the cowardly attacks that took this hero's life. I have since worn a memorial bracelet for him everyday. I was amazed with so many things after my husband returned from the memorial. My favorite Soap is One Life to Live, We are big Football fans, I work in Social services, and my husband is a Captain in the Fire Department. We did not know Keith but felt a connection. I knew he was expecting a baby and to find the picture on this website was so wonderful. Beautiful!!! God Bless your entire family. The Fire service is our life, with our son being an explorer as well, we cherish the dedication on a daily basis. Please know that in this brotherhood, he is never forgotten, in California...he has touched one family as well as the brothers lost with him. Again, God Bless.

Glascoe Family,

From the moment I met Keith I New he was such a special soul. I met him in South beach before he made the move to New York. He was always there to lend his shoulder for me to cry and give me Hugs and make me laugh.. He was such a gentle giant with a smile that could light up the darkest sky.

On that horrible day all I could think about was where was Keith. I tried paging him and never got a call. I finally found out that he had perished. I was saddened and sickened by the loss of such a beautiful Man.

My sympathies and warmest thoughts go out to his family , Wife and 3 children.. He was and still is truley a Treasure.

To all that knew Keith, they were lucky to have such a special person in their lives. I did not have the pleasure of knowing him, but from all that I have read about him, I can see what a kind, loving, and generous person he was. I recently found out that my family is related to the Glascoe family through my great-grandmother M.E. Watson from Chicago, IL (who recently passed away). I hope to someday meet the Glascoe family on one of my trips to NY and get to know the man that Keith was through his family and friends. My heart goes out to the Glascoe family.

Dear Glascoe family,

I met Keith about 6 or 7 years ago when he lived in Miami. I remember the moment that I first saw him, and thinking that I had to meet him. I used to work across the hall from him @ the mall and I used to just peek at the tall handsome guy my whole shift. When I finally had the nerve to say hello, I was so right about wanting to know him.

Keith was the nicest most considerate person you could ever meet. Today I met someone that happened to mention that she worked @ Kenneth Cole and I immediatly asked her if she knew someone named Keith and she did. I instantly asked her if she knew where he was and how he was doing. when she told me the bad news, we both stood there and cried. Imagine two strangers that had just met crying about someone they had both known at different times. This goes to show you what a special person he was,and how just the thought that he is in heavan now made you feel so sad. What a privaledge it is to say I knew him, and I if his children ever read this I want them to know that their father was one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. I will miss him dearly and he and his family will always be in my prayers...

I MISS YOU KEITH

Keith and Family:

I am at a loss for words. I only learned of your passing a few days ago. I thought I didn't know anyone personally involved and/or killed in the attack.

This has brought this tradgedy to a whole new light.

You will be missed.

Keith,

There's sooo much that I want to say to you. We were great friends at Delaware State College. I was floored when I learned that you were taken away from us. We shared a great friendship! We were part of the New York Connection Crew! Only we knew how to do it! I know that you're looking down on everyone that knew you (the big teddy bear that you are) and you're smiling. I can smile as well because you can only be in one place --- & that's "looking down"!

Thank you for being there to help save countless lives. Thank you for being a friend. And most of all -- thank you for being you! You will be missed like crazy!

Veronica: I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet. I wish you and your family the best that life has to offer. Congratulations on your arrival. Keith knows his namesake has arrived. He'll be looking out for you guys always. Just know that his spirit lives on.

I have vague memories of Keith. As I am 6yrs. younger than my brother Horace Taylor, and also went to Woodward School, but I remember Mr. Glascoe as the man who worked for the Restoration Center. I wish to express to you and your family my sympathies. I pray for you that every day life gets a little better.

It's said that time heals all wounds, well, our wounds are so deep that it's just going to take a lot more time than imaginable. It has been so uplifting to read your tributes to our sweet keith. I'm so glad that his goodness touched so many of you before GOD called him back. Keith took the time to let me know that he was ALL RIGHT. He said he 'had a course to finish' and 'I'm ALL RIGHT. I have to believe that he told me the truth because he was always so honest in life. When I start to falter, he picks me up in those big strong arms and tells me 'come on Mom'. Believe that one day you will see him again on the other side. We thank you for your continued prayers. I know that's what sustains me. We love you and we cherish your friendship. Manny, we haven't forgotten you and your family. We have established a scholarship in Keith's name at two private schools; one is The Transfiguration School, a catholic school in Chinatown. The other is called The Trey Whitfield School in Brooklyn.The Keith A. Glascoe scholarship for effort is awarded to junior high school students who have been choosen by the school administration who have put forth extrordinary effort to achieve academic excellence. We felt that this would be a wonderful way to honor our gentle giant, and we invite you to keep his legacy alive. We can be reached thru [email protected]

We both remember Keith when he was a student at Woodward School - on Clinton Ave in Brooklyn. He was friends with our son Horace. I just heard his name this morning when they were naming all the victims from 9/11 - one year exactly after that horrible day. Our deepest sympathy to Ben & Gloria. We know that Keith is now with our Heavenly Father where he is "safe and secure" from anymore harm.

At my church, we were all given a name of a person who had perished in the September 11th attacks. I received Keith's name and will truly pray for him and his family through out the year. God Bless Veronica, Nolan, Owen, and the new baby; you are all in my prayers.

I am at such a loss for words, I don't know where to begin. I met Keith at Tatou's in the early 90's. Memories I will truly cherish forever.

SAFELY HOME

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty

In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,

Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever

Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly

Trod the valley of the shade?

Oh! But Jesus' love illumined

every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me

In that way so hard to tread;

And with Jesus' arm to lean on,

Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,

for I love you dearly still:

Try to look beyond the earth's shadows,

Pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you,

So you must not idly stand;

Do it now, while life remaineth -

You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,

He will gently call you Home;

Oh, the rapture of that meeting,

Oh, the joy to see you come!

Keith will always remain a true star forever in my heart.

God Bless the Glascoe Family!
