KEITH DAVID FELIX HERCULES, 9th February,1942 (77 years old) of Tampa, Florida 33607 after a long struggle with Cancer passed away on Saturday 14th December 2019.
Keith was born at 140 Coffee Street, San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago to Ena (Wilson) & Wilton Hercules of San Fernando. Keith travelled to England at the age of 7 with his parents while his father attended Law School. He started learning to play the drums there while being taught Music by his Aunt Winnifred Atwell. He also lived in St. Lucia and Barbados where he attended Boarding school while his father was practicing Law. On Keith's return to Trinidad with his parents, he attended Presentation College in San Fernando. He also worked at the Caroni Sugar Estate while he was engaged in playing the steelpan with the band called “The Maestros”. Keith then travelled to Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 21 years old to attend Suffolk University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. He also attended Berklee School of Music, part time learning to play the drums under Alan Dawson. He also became an amateur boxer while attending University. He was an avid boxing fan, and it did not matter who was boxing. He also had a love for Aliens & UFO readings, (SMH) he believed in them.
Keith had moved to Oakland, California where he pursue a lot of his music talents. He started a family there and had 3 sons. Keith played with great bands and people like Ibex Reggae Band, Steve Parks, Cool Breeze, and a string of Bands in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay area.
Keith met his wife Jennifer, in Oakland California and they then moved to Tampa, Florida and were married on 29th May 1982 at which time they then had 2 sons. Keith lived for his family and music and loved reading and loved to walk (you guys know that). He also played drums with Liquid Bepop, Caribe Cool, D’Visitors just to mention a few in Tampa, Florida. Keith is preceded by his parents Wilton & Ena Hercules, and his son, Darren Hercules.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer (nee Lochin) sons Duane, Jamiko (Kellye/Judy), Kenan (Tiffiny), Jerel (Corinne), 11 grandchildren, sister Gillian (Anthony) Bunbury, his aunts Lois Barrow & Jackie Deverteuil (Neville) (San Fernando, Trinidad) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters & brothers in law. Not to mention extended family and dear friends.
Keith would have liked all his family and friends to stay strong for him and for each other, and celebrate him with music, since you all know that he had a great life and long fight with Cancer... as he would say “Ah Gone!”
Keith was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday 18th, January 2020 at 11:00 AM, at St Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1203 N. Nebraska Ave, Tampa Florida. 33602

I'm wondering if this is the Keith I made friends with when he and I were pupils at Mitcham Lane ( Penwortham Road) primary school in Streatham, South London, back in the late 1940's. We used to swap comics, I remember. His father came to the school and gave an interesting talk about life in Trinidad.
