Keith PARRISH Obituary

Published by Calgary Herald from Jan. 31 to Feb. 4, 2012.
PARRISH, Keith Maxwell (Max)
October 13, 1952 - January 27, 2012
Keith (Max) Parrish, beloved husband of Pat Parrish of Calgary, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the age of 59 years. Max was a modern day John Wayne who lived life by his own code of honour and integrity. He worked hard and was a great provider for his family and was always there for them. Max was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and summers on the lake with family and friends. Max loved being on the road, truck driving for forty years where his record and reputation spoke for itself. He was loved by everyone and will be sorely missed but will live on in our hearts and memories forever. Besides his loving wife of thirty-six years, Max is survived by his children, Susan Cindric, Jared Parrish and Tyler Parrish; three grandchildren, Stephen, Mitchell and Michael; siblings Linda (Glenn) MacKenzie and Lyle (Kim) Parrish; two nieces Alison MacKenzie and Ashley Parrish; two nephews Cameron MacKenzie and Cody Parrish; as well as nieces and nephews in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario; his stepfather Earl Miller; his extended family and many friends. Max was predeceased by his mother Joyce Miller, his father Earl Parrish, and his grandparents Blanche and James Miller. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . In living memory of Max Parrish, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Although we hadn't seen Keith in quite awhile, we fondly remember trucking together from Saskatoon-Calgary for over ten years. We now only do local gravel hauling in Saskatoon and have not spent time together in recent years. We cherish all the weekends spent in Calgary getting together with Keith and Pat. We were away in Cancun at the end of January, but kept Keith close in our thoughts. We had several toasts to him while on the beautiful beaches. Our daughter, Nicole, now 21 yrs old recalls many of the weekends spent staying at the Travelodge in Calgary when she was a young child. She always said Keith did not look like a Keith, so she gave him the name Pete. She always referred to our friends as Pete and Pat Parrish. She was so upset to hear about Keith's passing too!

I will miss Keith on the road. At coffee breaks he was always pleasant and had interesting things to say. Most of the time it was a friendly hello on the C B radio. He was a good friend. My condolences to his family. God bless. Rest in peace. Gord Jacobs. Cross Country Trucking. ( Parmalat )
