Keith A. Sahr, age 87, of Blue Earth, formerly of Bricelyn, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at St. Luke's Nursing Home in Blue Earth, surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 10, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Covenant Life Church in Wells. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn. Pastor Steven Lorenz will officiate and interment will be in Rice Lake Cemetery- Foster Township, Faribault County, MN. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn, is in charge of arrangements. Keith Arthur Sahr was born November 6, 1926, the son of Arthur and Ethel (Sydow) Sahr on the family farm in Brush Creek Township, Faribault Co, MN. He graduated from Bricelyn High School, the class of 1944. He loved playing football in high school. Keith was united in marriage to Marie E. Wegner at the Rice Lake Church on September 1, 1948. Keith was involved in his community in many leadership capacities including the Bricelyn Elevator Board, PTA President, Lincoln Creamery Board in Wells, along with being a 4-H Leader and a member of the Brush Creek Cemetery Board. In his younger years, Keith liked to hunt pheasant and rabbit. He possessed a deep faith and Church was important to him. He was involved as Rice Lake's Sunday School Superintendent, and active on the Church Council. He was a Bethel Bible Series Teacher, and currently, was an Elder of Covenant Life Church in Wells. He was a life-long crop and dairy farmer, even after his "retirement". He loved going to the farm, driving tractor, running errands and stopping in to see how things were going. He enjoyed watching sports games on TV and listening to them on the radio. Keith loved to read; he read the Bible (13 times) along with spiritual books. He shared his wisdom and thoughts of what he read and he prayed daily for his family and friends, and wanted to be remembered by his smile. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie of Blue Earth; 4 children: Virginia (Owen) Lorenz of Bricelyn, Gerald Sahr of Fairmont, Cala (Clair) Nassen of Blue Earth; Mark (Julie) Sahr of Bricelyn; 12 grandchildren: Cindy (John) Wacker, Daniel Lorenz, Andrew (Kristen) Lorenz, Rebekah Lorenz, Justin Lorenz; Eric Nassen (special friend Jessica Kelm-Rappel), Shelly (Jason) Lamusga, Heather (Andrew) Noll; Brandon (Jasmine) Sahr, Douglas (Ann) Sahr, Nathan (Loy) Sahr, Valerie Sahr; 17 great-grandchildren: Micah, Rachel, Bethany, and Esther Wacker; Aaron, Brady and Abbey Lorenz; Ahna, Trent, and Miranda Nassen; Brayden, Brooklyn and Madison Lamusga; Ariel, Sawyer and Lucy Sahr; Wyatt Sahr; one sister: Elaine Bidne of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law: John Steckelberg, Marlin (Phyllis) Wegner and Norman (Ruth Ann) Wegner He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Verle Knapton and Milda Steckelberg; 1 brother: Wayne Sahr.
