Keith Ryan Winsted

Thank you for having welcomed me with so much grace and alacrity, Professor Winsted. You made me feel welcome and at home, and I enjoyed our little talks while we each worked hurriedly in order to get to the next matter of the day. You always stopped to take the time to not only say "Hello" but to also converse about the things and people in our lives that mattered and made life better. Thank you for having created a mellifluous space in our adjunct spaces whether we were at the Main Building or the Fiterman Hall Cafe. Your memory is a blessing. Thank you. For August 9th: Happy Birthday wherever your energies and frequency may be.

Keith was exactly what he presented himself as. I knew him for about 30 years and appreciated every thing about him. I lost contact with him 5 years ago but by chance found his unexpected obit. He was a fine man and a loving and doting son. Fly high my friend.

I will miss you professor winsted will never forget the great conversations we had about actors and great films and how you believed in my talent and pushed me to get better.

Oh my poor Keith, taken from us way too soon! I loved you so.... My heart is broken as I just found out. I will give a more formal tribute after I process this!

Keith was a mensch. Always kind. Always a bright light of optimism and intelligent and witty and insightful conversation. He was an effortless pro and life was better if he was in your life with you. We were colleagues at Version2 Editorial many years ago, and I haven't seen him in a long time -- But I am struck with sadness by this wonderful soul's passing.

Keith from jump was supportive, collegial and just great to be around. His kindness, listening ear, and thoughtful words were deeply appreciated, and will always be remembered. His invaluable contributions to the theatre program at BMCC, and to the hearts, minds and career development of the students will live on!

Wow, This man was incredible. He believed in me when I didn't. He pushed me to be a better performer and human. He was so kind, warm, and loving. An amazing teacher and mentor. Thank you for all you were Keith! I will always cherish you.

Keith was one of my best friends in high school. I have SO MANY fond memories from choir, band and school. Kept up with each other throughout the years. He was such a wonderful, fun, happy person. I will miss him dearly. Fly high friend!

Keith was a Superhuman, a rare gift of the universe to all of us. I first met Keith in Rome, Italy, during one of his trip more than 10 years ago, then in NYC for few times during my several trips in USA. He supported me during one of the worst day of my life when I Iost a very close familiar, he introduced me beautiful people, Carrie, Jeremy, a family that I know will always stay there form me. I will save forever the last message received last Christmas. He was a pilar in my life, source of inspiration. We only met few times in this life but I always had the feeling to know him since ages, one of that special person that illuminate with light and joy your path in this word even when is dark and cold. I love you Keith, we love you Keith in this and in others life. A special think goes to Jeremy, we all love you Jeremy for what you did and for what you are.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a special person and will be missed. An inspiration.

I´m so sorry for your loss Jeremy and all of Keith´s family. Keith was always an inspiration to me as a kid a few years younger than him in band. He was funny, witty, immensely talented, & kind. Even then I knew he was going places. I was so happy to have reconnected via Facebook after many years. Reading of his accomplishments fills me with joy and pride at having known him. When I think of him, I always remember his smile and laughter. May his memory be a blessing. Love and light.

When I read all that you have accomplished in your life, it makes me proud that you were able to go and live life to the fullest. When I think of you back in High School, I think of laughter and fun. From reading condolences of the people who knew you in your adult life as an actor, professor, writer, you lived a great life and touched many people along the way. RIP Keith Winsted.

I have fun great memories of Keith, the halloween parties, the other parties where he sang his heart out, and many other crazy nights out. As we got older and we stopped going out as much, he always asked about my son and commented on how cute he was via FB. He will be missed.

Keith was the sweetest person always willing to help. Ever since we were little he had the gift to listen and try to help people. When he moved away we got to see him at holidays.Loved listen to all his adventures and tales.my heart breaks that we will not get to see you again.But I know you are in heaven with your mom,dad, Nene,papa and my dad. I only knew him only tangentially from BMCC. I found him charming, full of life; perfect for our students. A lovely man. I will miss knowing he is no longer a member of our community. A true loss.

I have known Keith since he was just a sprout! His greatest talent was making each person he met feel like the most interesting person on the planet. You are so missed!

Dear Keith,
I was your teacher for a time but through it all, you taught me. Your writing talent ticked and thrilled me with its Southern daring, specificity, depth of character and humor. Your kindness toward your fellow students helped make your class one of the most extraordinary of my life. Your attention to me when I was ill was unexpected and gracious. You always went out of the way to surprise and make others happy. You have and had so many talents in addition to writing and deep friendship: for acting, directing, producing and teaching. In you the universe gave expression to pure love in so many forms. Thank you for being my teacher.

Keith´s grandparents (winsted) lived down the street from me growing up & his aunt Alice is a "forever friend". Every single time I think of Keith , I remember his smile and his zest for life. That´s how I´ll always remember him. Blessings go out for his loved ones.

My deepest condolences to the family of Professor Keith Winstead. Professor was truly a pillar when it comes to what he has accomplished and done for others. When you had a problem His heart was always there. When you needed to talk he was there with open ears and a cigarette for him to relax and give you his advice therapy. When you needed assistance, he extended his hand to help in anyway that he can. I truly know this for a fact, because when I went through some things in my life, he was there for me 100% as long as I have my memory intact I will never forget you Professor Winsted. My sincere condolences to all those who know and love Keith. He always had a kind word to share and was very appreciative of any love and support shown to him. He will be missed. God rest his soul.
