It's hard to summarize the measure of a man or a friend in a few paragraphs or a few words. I knew Keith only for the last 12 years of his life. We came to know each other as golfing buddies at Andover's Cedar Pines golf course. There were three of us to start: Keith, Casey and I; we were to be joined by Bruce a year later. Every Wednesday, no matter the weather, we would be out there swinging away and cussing after our stray and errant shots or lost balls ... of which there were many. Still we enjoyed our golf game, but even more, our camaraderie and our friendship. I think, for us this was the hi-light of our week, especially our post-round beers. And so we played on, year after year, with the same enthusiasm but with lilting and diminishing results.

Keith's last game came on a hot August afternoon in 2014 when he didn't have the strength to finish our round. I'll miss Keith and our golf games, but more than the games I'll miss his friendship. We were two unlikely guys to strike up a friendship: our ages were different our backgrounds were different and our golf games were different - while I would win a game now and then, it seems like I was always buying Keith's beers and hamburgers at the Timbuktu Bar and Grill.

So, what is friendship? It's an accidental bond formed between two people that's based on common interests and individual respect, and which grows stronger with each passing year. I admired Keith for the man he was, his love for his wife Mel and for his sons Byron and Todd and daughter Terry; and, I valued his friendship. Keith was a Gentle Man and a Gentleman and a Friend; and I will miss him greatly.

Albert Einstein said: Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and our friends' memories. For they are us, and our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life.

Good-bye my friend, and may all of your heavenly golf rounds be under par.

How saddened we were to hear of Keith's passing, though we know he's in a better place! Melba you & your family are in our thoughts & prayers.
We have such fond memories of meeting this fine couple in July of 1996 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. We remember their enthusiasm and joy of traveling in their RV, and sharing with us all the things they had learned! We saw them many times that summer as we crossed paths, and forged a wonderful and lasting Friendship! We shall remember and honor Keith, and our beginnings in NS!! How happy we were to last see Keith in 2014, when we visited your lovely home. Tears and laughter fill us now! We love you both, and hope to see you again, Melba! Love, Joanie & Bob McGee, (Blairsville, GA)

The first time I met Keith, we got into an argument about women on the golf course. But we made up, and became great friends. Traveled the world with Keith and Melba, and love them so much.
