Daniel Clifford Rickman, 40, of Staunton, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on October 11, 1982, in Waynesboro to Daniel Owen Rickman and Kara Lynette Allen.
Daniel worked as a cook at Wright's Dairy-Rite in Staunton.
Outside of work, had an adventurous spirit and loved nothing more than spending time outdoors. Fishing and hunting were among his favorite pastimes, especially when shared with his family. Daniel found great joy in teaching his son, Gabriel, baseball and treasured every moment they spent together.
Sports held a special place in Daniel's heart, and he enjoyed watching games with his brother, Jeremiah.
Camping was another activity that brought immense happiness to Daniel's life. Whether it was pitching a tent by the lake or sitting around a crackling campfire with his sister, Miranda, he cherished each camping trip as an opportunity to connect with nature and strengthen family ties.
In quieter moments, Daniel would gather with his mother to watch movies. It was during these times that they created lasting memories together.
Daniel valued friendship immensely and had a close bond with his brother-in-law, Eddie Harris, during their mushroom hunting trips. The thrill of the hunt was amplified by their shared enthusiasm for this unique adventure.
Poker nights were never dull when Adam Kesterson, Daniel's best friend, joined the table. The camaraderie they shared extended beyond the poker chips and filled their lives with laughter, tales, and friendly competition.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by his son, Gabriel Rickman; his sisters, Miranda Painter and Amanda Garrison; his brother, Jeremiah Allen; his great-niece Addalynn; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
