Kelly Matthew Kidd

Kelly Matthew Kidd, 56, passed away on April 21st. Born August 23, 1968, in Louisville, Kelly graduated from Doss High School in 1987 and went on to leave a lasting mark on his community.

Kelly is survived by his two children, Kaley (22) and Dakota (26); and his younger brother, Nicholas (42). He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; his mother, Carolyn; and his brother, Benjamin.

A natural entrepreneur, Kelly owned several businesses in the south end of Louisville, including Body FX and The Sports Center. He was well known in the bodybuilding and supplement communities, both as a competitor and a supporter. His love for sports cards and memorabilia was a lifelong passion that brought him joy and connection.

Although he faced his own struggles later in life, Kelly remained a deeply generous and hardworking man. He was someone who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation, who showed up when it mattered, and who never stopped caring. To know him was to love him, and his impact will not be forgotten.

Raised Catholic and a firm believer in Jesus Christ, Kelly's faith remained a part of his identity throughout his life.

A chapel service for committal prayers will be held at Calvary Cemetery on May 9th at 12:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Kelly's honor-help someone who's struggling, lend a hand without being asked, or simply show grace. That's how he wanted to be remembered.
