Kelsey Savage Obituary
Durham
Kelsey Neale Savage, 21, lost her courageous fight against Cystic Fibrosis on March 30 at UNC Hospitals. She was a Durham native and a 2008 graduate of CE Jordan High School. She furthered her education in veterinary care due to her passion for animals. Kelsey will always be remembered for her enthusiasm for life and relentless perseverance.
Kelsey is survived by her parents, Bill and Carol Savage; brother, Taylor; grandparents Joel "Boogie" and Dorothy Evans of Trinity, NC and Ruth "Pat" Savage of Largo, FL. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private service for the family will be held on April 2.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
To show your love for Kelsey, feel free to join the Savage family in the CF "Great Strides" walk on April 21, 2012 at Duke's East Campus. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (cff.org) in memory of Kelsey.

I have had the pleasure of meeting the whole Savage family - Bill, Carol, and Taylor but never Kelsey. Such a kind sweet family and I'm sure that Kelsey was just as wonderful. I first met Kelsey in middle school at Rogers Herr. Through the years, we grew further apart, but I will always remember spending the night at her house, seeing her room filled of animals, and watching scary movies the next day. You will be remembered by all that you met for your wonderful outlook on life.

Kelsey, I'll never forget your passion for animals & life, strength and spirit. You had a heart of gold and it was a privilege to have taught you. My husband and I met Kelsey when she began visiting the youth group at the church we were at. She was such a sweet girl. Always smiling and thinking of others. Her love for her family, friends and animals was inspiring. We are praying for your family in this time of loss.

Carol, Bill and Taylor, I am so sorry and pray for you all as your grieve the loss of such a beautiful girl, I am a friend of Steve and Leigh's and feel as if I know you all since Steve often spoke about you. He desribed Kelsey's spirit and love of life often to me. She will suffer no longer for now she is in Heaven with God. I pray for your pain of her loss.
