Kendall "Pappy" Simmons, of Palo Alto, born May 12, 1940 in Oklahoma passed away on Sept. 13, 2021 in Palo Alto, CA. Beloved son of late Marshall and Agnes Simmons; loving father of Kendall (Michelle) Simmons, Earlene Hamilton and Tina Fonteno; cherished grandpa of Charles (Gabby) Burnett III and Brianna Thomasson, Kenya Fonteno, Riley, Payton, Kayleigh, Kensington and Kamari Simmons; great grandpa to Christian Burnett, Andre Tyson Jr, Kierra Smith, Alexandria Albro; great great grandpa to Andre Tyson III; dear brother to Marshall (Q.C.) Simmons (deceased), Quinola Ike, Earlene Simmons (deceased), Ruth Sowell, James Simmons (deceased) and Rhoda Simmons. Kendall served in the United States Army, spent his 35-year career in Parks and Recreation as well as dedicating his life to coaching his children and others. Kendall touched countless lives and helped so many people. Interment will be private. A Celebration of Life will be announced for an upcoming date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vista Center for the Blind at www.vistacenter.org. Arrangements entrusted to Sir Winston Funeral Services, Vallejo.
