Kenneth Anacker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 9 to Apr. 15, 2015.
Hermosa Beach, CA - Kenny Anacker, 64, passed away at home after a long courageous battle with cancer. Kenny showed strength, courage and humility throughout.

Kenny was born in Madison, WI, the son of Mary Alice and Stanley Anacker. He graduated from Janesville (WI) Parker High School in 1968 and attended UW-Milwaukee and Milton College. He excelled at baseball at all institutions.

Kenny came to Hermosa Beach, and while visiting, fell in love with the area. He moved from Janesville, WI to California in 1984. He married Judy Marston in Hermosa Beach, California in 1988. He worked 30 years for Harbor Distributing, respected by all with whom he came in contact.

He had a passion for all sports, but was captivated by golf. He was a competitor and took no quarter, at times his own worst critic. As a fan, he had a special bond with the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He loved watching and encouraging his daughter, Joie, as she played soccer.

Kenny lived life to the fullest. He touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He left a legacy of stories that will be retold many times over. He was a great husband, father, son, brother and friend.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Joie; mother Mary Alice Anacker of Janesville, WI; siblings Janice (Phil) Locker of Big Lake, AL, Tom (Kate) Anacker of Centerville, OH, Peggy (Bill) Palmer of Leesburg, FL, Bill (Beaver) (Lisa) Anacker of Janesville, Teri (Dave) Watts of Madison, WI, James Anacker of Janesville, WI, Tim (Sheila) Anacker of Janesville; mother and father in-law, Bertie and Joe Marston, sister and brother in-laws Suzi (Marston) and Rich Bard, Barb (Marston) and Joel Cross. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Anacker.

There will be a celebration of life for Kenny at the Kiwanis Club of Hermosa Beach, 2515 Valley Drive, from 2 pm – 5 pm on Saturday April 25th.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in Kenny's name are requested to be directed to the Torrance Memorial Hospice (https://www.torrancememorial.org/Giving/Donate_Now.aspx ) or a cancer charity of your choice.

The pictures posted were from my parents vacation in Florida, March, 1976. Les Gasrude who owned the Green Onion is also in the pictures. Found them today and thought I'd share.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I met Kenny 40 years ago and he taught me many things about life. He was my first love. I'm sorry to hear he died of cancer. I didn't appreciate what he taught me until years later. I hope he had a wonderful life. My sincerest sympathies to his family.
