Rest in Peace my friend
Janet Haynes
December 3, 2007
Ken you were my teacher and my best friend. Like a great teacher, you recognized my academic potential and helped to foster my academic growth. Over the years, you have taught me to reach for the sky and to persevere when times got rough. You enjoyed challenging me on topics that you know I would have an oppositional stance. I knew I was ready for doctoral studies when I began winning our debates. Today, I walk proudly in your footsteps, as a professor, and it is with the highest regards, that I salute you my dear friend. I will miss you, but I take great comfort in knowing that you have gone to a better place. As sad as I am, I know we will meet again, someday. Rest in perfect peace my dearly beloved Ken.

Ken was a kind and gentle man, whose premature passing will sadden those who were fortunate enough to know him. Many years ago he was a great influence on my children who also remember him fondly. May God bless and comfort his family and those closest to him.

Ken Brewster’s soft-spoken genial demeanor, his sincere empathy and kindness quickly won him the affection of those who shared his company. I am grateful for the opportunities I had to share experiences and thoughts with Ken. May Christ's divine power continue to strengthen within Ken's soul and spirit in the afterlife and throughout all his future incarnations and may the love of all his friends and family remain an enduring bond that defies the passage of time.

Over the years Ken's friendship meant so much to me. His quiet sense of humor could always put things in prospective. In this journey called life there are a few very special people who touch us with their kindness ,generosity and wisdom, and my friend Ken will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

There is absolutely no need for special language to describe Ken, despite the fact that he was indeed a special person. He was a kind and generous person and the best friend that anyone could have. I can testify to that, and I am surely going to miss him. My only consolation now is the belief that somehow we will be reunited, and the hope that I can continue my relationship with him by continuing my communication with his other half, Margaret.
