Kenneth E. Frink
Viewing for Kenneth E. Frink, 59, longtime Ellensburg resident, will be Friday, December 28, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Steward & Williams Funeral Home in Ellensburg. Mr. Frink passed away on December 19, 2018 at the Swedish Medical Center at Cherry Hill in Seattle following a massive heart attack. A Celebration of Life will be held in January 2019 and those details will be announced later.
Ken was born on December 16, 1959 in Wenatchee, Washington, the third of four children born to Albert & Marlene (Anderson) Frink. He grew up in Ellensburg and attended Ellensburg High School. While in high school, Ken was an all-around athlete participating in all sports but excelled in wrestling and baseball. He was also known in school for his love of Ford Mustangs. Ken spent most of his adult years on the west side, working construction, as a crane operator and installing drywall. He lived in North Bend, Kirkland and the Tri-Cities before moving back to Ellensburg in 2000. He married Eva (Wyatt) Waters on April 22, 2005 at Kapalua Bay, Kaanapali, Maui and the couple owned and operated Central Party and Costume.
Ken spent his career as a truck driver, both working for other as well as owning/operating K&E Trucking. He had unsurpassed loyalty to Peterbilt trucks and chrome. Although he spent many hours on the road, he will be remembered by his family as the hardest working man they knew - even after a long day he would still come home and spend quality time with his family. He will also be remembered as an outgoing, talkative and very funny man who would do anything to help people.
Ken had many hobbies, traveling being his favorite, frequently to places with warm weather and beaches. He took many trips over the years and was always ready to plan a new adventure. He was an avid golfer, Seahawks fan and meticulous about the way his lawn was kept. Ken will be fondly remembered for always remembering special dates - such as birthday and anniversaries - and sending flowers to brighten people's day. Ken was a fantastic cook and enjoyed preparing prime rib, flank steak and "Ken's Famous Potatoes" for family and friends.
Ken was a member of the Party Clubs of America, the American Rental Association and while he held no religious affiliation, Ken believed in just loving and accepting others.
Ken is survived by his wife, Eva, at the family home in Ellensburg; children Kyle Frink, Shannon Waters and Jordan Waters of Ellensburg; granddaughter Desi Frink of Snoqualmie; mother Marlene Frink of Ellensburg; sisters Gayle Mothershead and Jackie (Dennis) Carollo of Ellensburg and Coralee Pearsall of Coeur d' Alene; God-daughter Stephanie Cassidy-Hicks of the Tri-Cities, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Frink, in 1998.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Swedish Medical Center - Cherry Hill for their excellent care and concern for Ken and the family over the last few weeks. To that end, memorial contributions are suggested to the Swedish Medical Center Foundation, 747 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122. Ken was an organ donor in life and his corneas were given so two people will receive the gift of sight from his donation.
Steward & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellensburg has been entrusted with caring for Ken's family. Online condolences may be left at www.steward-williams.com
