Kenneth Gines Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 22 to Dec. 23, 2022.
Kenneth Ross Gines, age 76, of White Hall, MD, passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2022.

Ken was born on October 9, 1946 to Ray and Mary Rose (Duncan) Gines in Browns, IL. After graduating from high school, Ken went on to study electronics at United Electronics Institute in Louisville, KY. He began his first job at Westinghouse (Northrop Grumman) as an Electronics Technician, kickstarting a 45 year career with the company.

In 1968, Ken met Alice on a blind date. They married in 1970 and together raised two sons, Shaun and Ross. As a family, they spent many years traveling and enjoyed tractor pulling with the KASR Pulling Team with Ken's truck, "Plum Crazy."

In 2011, Ken retired and spent his days tinkering in his garage, enjoying visits with his family and friends, and happily assisting anyone that asked with their project of the moment.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, Ray Gines and Mary Rose Gines. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Alice Kelly Gines, his sons Shaun Gines (Timothy Carter) and Ross Gines, three grandchildren and four step grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved sister and brother, Mary Rae Hockgeiger and Timothy Gines.

Funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, the donations may be made to a cause or organization of your choosing.

I'll always remember Ken, we had a lot of good times together. Can't believe he's been gone a year. I play this song over and over in many ways it helps me get through the days. By Cooper Alan- NEVER NOT REMEMBER YOU

I knew Ken from school and a shared hometown. My dad worked with his mom at the post office. My most memorable time with Ken was when we attended scout camp together with our Pastor and scoutmaster. It rained most all week, confining us to our tent. We got a kick out of the pastor studying his book of sermons and falling asleep. We had a good time in spite of the bad weather.

KEN, rest in peace, no more suffering. You were a great neighbor for 25 years. Always thankful for your help on the driveway. Remember When Missy took off down Norrisville Rd and Ken just got out of pool with a towel around him. He said, next time I will put flip-flops on. Great neighbors. Praying for Alice, Shaun, Ross and grandkids. He will surely be missed.

Best memories coming around the corner to the garage and there he was tinkering away always. Always with his old coffee cup in had. If anyone needed help Ken was there to help you tinker too. You will surely be missed Ken.
