Kenneth Robert Halliwell

Kenneth R. Halliwell peacefully passed away in Ontario, Oregon on June 14, 2018. Following is a summary from a visit with his step-daughter, Margi.
I was born September 18, 1928 to Elizabeth Clarke and William Henry Halliwell in Regina, Saskatchewan. I am older than my two sisters, Patricia June and Phyllis Marie. I graduated from a technical high school, Belfor Tech.
My first wife was Yvonne, Bill and Mike's mom. Bill passed in his sleep. Mike is also deceased. My second wife was Ruth, John's mom.
I worked at Gerrard Dry Docks, in Vancouver, British Columbia. I helped build the Second Narrows Bridge.
I returned to Saskatchewan, working in Regina and Saskatoon. I worked for CP Rail as a car man's helper. I lost my job when they ruled that everyone needed 20 20 vision. For a time I worked in Flinflaun, Manitoba. Then I returned to Vancouver. I took a job in a brand new 3 story building as head of maintenance.
I started attending the Nazarene church after meeting Joy. I was baptized and became a regular church attender after that.
I married Joy in 1977, moved to Springfield, Oregon. I worked for Lane County Solid Waste, retiring in 1992.
My hobbies included playing with trains, remodeled and renovating my homes, and traveling in our RV.
Ken is survived by his son John (Angela) Halliwell of British Columbia and 4 grandchildren: Katelyn, Justin, Maggie-Lee, and Lincoln. Also, Joy's 4 children, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandsons.
A memorial service for Ken and Joy will be held on June 27, 2 p.m.
