Kenneth Roger Hottman was born in Stockton, CA on May 5, 1948 and passed away on April 16, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Beverly, his daughters Amy (Brad) Buechler, Lindsay (Jason) Jimenez, grandchildren Avery, Aiden, Riley and Baylor and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Martha, and siblings Irene, Arnie and Oscar. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Growing up in Elk Grove, Ken loved and played many sports, but baseball was his specialty. Starting at a young age he excelled throughout high school, college, minor and major leagues. Ken retired from United Parcel Service after 30 years to enjoy playing golf, fishing and especially watching his grandkids grow and pursue their interests.

May God be with you and yours during this time. I played with Ken in AAA with White Sox. The White Sox family has lost one of their own. Ken was a kind individual and teammate. When he hit a ball it went into orbit.

I met Ken at a Elk Grove High School game years ago. Every game I seen him he would come up to chat and ask about my family and would talk about baseball. A kind and awesome person! our prayers to the entire family. Fond memories my friend.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kenny's family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Kenny. He was always my favorite. His Nick name too me was Lew. My favorite memory of Kenny was when we played on the softball team for ups and I was his catcher. There was a play at home and Kenny came running to help me and I told him I got it. And boy did I . The guy plowed me over at home plate but I held onto that ball and he was out. Kenny was so proud of me. Kenny you will truly be missed. Until we meet again my friend. Peace be with y'all

I'll personally miss Ken for his competiveness, the very gifted abilities he possessed in all the major sports. We competed in high school against each other, which was not fair to me at all. But what I learned after our college days, is what a wonderful man that he was. My best wishes go out to Ken's family, God bless you. .

My prayers and thoughts go to Bev and the girls - and the whole family. He was truly a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Having known Ken through high school and many years since at church I am happy to claim him as fellow grad of EGHS class of 1966, fellow Lutheran, neighbor and friend. Ken gave smiles and warm heart to everyone he came in contact with, he was truly a man of God and now he will see HIM face-to-face. As much as we will miss him, those of us that are baptized will see Ken again. What a reunion that will be for eternity. Bev, our hearts and prayers are with you and your family during and beyond this most difficult time. As you know, Ken has touched several lives over these many decades. He was a disciple of Jesus in a quite and unassuming way. Please know we are here for you and our prayers cover you and your family asking that peace and comfort come with the arms of Jesus wrapped around each and everyone of you. Always, your sister and brother in Christ, Jack and Chris
