My condolences to the family. I have known Ken since I came to Edmonton Alberta through the AAA. I have always enjoyed his humour, passion, and dedication to all around him. I will miss him greatly, but will never forget such an amazing 'big' guy!!

Janny and family,
Ken gave me my first job as an architect in Calgary in 1975. The office on 8Th Ave. with Ken and Bob LeBlanc was an exceptional place to work - creative, comfortable and fun. I always fondly remember those times working with Ken.
Sincerely, Dale Archibald,architect Antigonish, NS

Dear Janny, Keesa, and Kodi,
I am terribly saddened to read of Ken's passing. He was a true gentleman for whom I had a deep respect and admiration, even before I began working with him in 2005. My sincerest condolences to you all.

Very Shocked to hear of Ken's passing. I knew Ken on and off over the years as we worked on projects with Alberta Public Works. I had more contact in those days with Dave Illsey (Medicine Hat Jail). But whenever a commrade was ill or passed away, I would run into Ken and/or Dave at the event and was invited for a coffee or a lunch. Condolenscences to the family and may Ken keep on creating on the road ahead.

Found the CBC report on Yahoo news about his passing and my comment.
What a personal shock to me, ken was a sailing buddy from way back, on lake Windemere. A few great memories from back in the eighties, crewing on his Osprey. Rest in peace Buddy your sailing passion really rubbed off on me, even after I got tossed overboard in chilly 15C water on a windy Saturday afternoon in June, back in about 1986 or seven.
Ken for what ever it is worth from up there, still sailing hard and a shelf full of trophies as memories. A life lesson learned, you got to drop a few times, only to get back up and now with a lot more passion & effort. My sincere condolences to the family.

As the Chairman of the South West Arena Society and Ken as a Board Member in the Construction of the Centennial Arenas --- to obtain an operating line of credit at the bank --- Ken (6'7") and Martin MacDonald (6'7") and I stood at the bank managers desk in such a way that intimidated the bank manager to approve our loan in about 5 minutes
RIP Ken

Ken was a kind and remarkable man who shone a bright light on those around him...the kind of light that made everyone look, very good!
Although he will be missed very much by all, may his passing bring some small measure of comfort.
God bless.

Ken and I met in our 1st year university at UofA and soon found we were both set on getting our B.Arch at UBC. We became friends and shared most of the major events in our lives over the years - weddings, family, ups and downs. Ken had a wonderful sense of joy in life and was very creative. We were good friends for over 55 years. He will be missed.
