Kenneth Lawrence Jantzen BRISTOL, Va. Kenneth Lawrence Jantzen, 79, died on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late William Nicholas and Gertrude Weber Jantzen. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Christopher Jantzen. Kenneth lived in northern Virginia for 30 years before moving to Bristol in 1995. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a lifetime member of the Dale City, Virginia VFW. He loved his family, tending to his yard, and taking care of the birds and squirrels that visited there. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Lorene Ratliff Jantzen; daughter, Lisa Jantzen; grandchildren, Corey Nicholas Ingram, Cheyenne Lorene Jantzen, and Joseph Dakota Dyke; and three nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday evening, Dec. 22, 2009, at Blevins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 o'clock with Dr. Austin Cook officiating. The committal service and interment will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, in Forrest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Corey Ingram, Russell Parrott, Jake Hutton, Frank Ratliff, Charlie Bradley, and Ray Ratliff. Honorary pallbearers will be: Joe Dyke, Curtis E. Ratliff, Ralph Ratliff, Jim Ratliff, Donnie Ratliff, Clint Ratliff, Michael LaTrangna, and Ricky Ratliff.
