Kenneth Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 27, 2025.
Kenneth Gene Johnson, lovingly known as "Kenny G," passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, in Oakdale, Minnesota, at the age of 64. Born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Kenneth spent his childhood alongside his four brothers, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and adventure.

Kenneth had a deep love for animals that began in his youth with pets like a guinea pig and a chicken and extended throughout his life to include dogs. A passionate athlete, he excelled in bodybuilding and even worked out with Hulk Hogan. He was invited to be part of the early days of what is now the WWE. Kenneth's athleticism also led him to semi-professional baseball, and he spent countless hours enjoying sports with friends and family.

A devoted father, Kenneth found immense pride in his children's accomplishments and delighted in their shared hobbies. He cherished watching them excel in sports and supported them wholeheartedly in all their endeavors. Kenneth also loved sharing his favorite movies, attending concerts with loved ones, and creating lasting memories through these experiences.

His faith grew profoundly during his life, especially after his diagnosis. Kenneth embraced his journey with grace and spoke often of his excitement to meet God and reunite with his father. His unwavering faith was a source of strength and inspiration to those around him.

Kenneth is remembered as a selfless man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His love for his children and grandchildren shone brightly in the pride he took in their lives and the countless photos he kept close. His hard work, devotion to family, and steadfast faith leave a legacy that will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his three children: Christopher (Shaunie), River (Ashley), and Kaylee; his grandchildren, Charlie and Wesley; his mother, Barb Johnson; his four brothers: Steve, Jeff, Mike, and Gary; as well as many nieces and nephews.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul." – Psalm 23:1-3

My name is Tom Schumacher and I reside in Leander, Texas. I am one of the many cousins of Ken. His mother and I have remained close over the years and I worked with his dad at Waldorf. As a Christian, I rejoice in his faith here on earth and the comfort of knowing he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Also, his reuniting with his dad must be of such unimaginable joy. I look forward to the day of joining them in the heaven God has created for all who believe in Him!
