Have heard many great stories about Ken and am sorry I never had the opportunity to meet him in person. He will be missed.

I always looked forward to Ken coming by on a Friday night to drop off gear. He always had a good story to tell, and always made me laugh. In a world of imitation, he was truly one of a kind. My condolences to Ken's family. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Dear Ken,
There isn’t a day that goes by as I go through my overdue reports, that I don’t think of you. Each thought is received by a smile, and each smile turns into laughter. And that is the way I will remember you, someone who always could bring a little laughter into my life. What wonderful thoughts you have left me with. You were such a unique individual. Always greeting me with your kindness. You will not be forgotten, dear Kenny Mac.

The Angels in Heaven better make sure their harps are back on time or they can expect a visit.
A Vancouver legend will be truly missed.

The world has lost a true Canadian character. I was working in Paris when I heard about the passing of my old colleague and friend Ken. On a beautiful autumnal day, I was able to reflect on an individual the likes of which "they just don't make anymore". I must say that I spent the majority of the day with a smile on my face; not because he is gone all too early but because my life is better for having known him. Wherever he may be right now, I'd like to think the place is echoing to the sound of his laughter. My thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time.

Ken was with our company for more than thirty-five years and during that time he made a major contribution in the Vancouver area. He was also a great guy and I am sure we will all miss him. I know I will.

I worked with Ken for 4 years at the Vancouver L&M store. He was completely original - a truly unique person. He'll be missed.
My condolences to his family.

I was privileged to have gone on a couple of ride alongs in 2002. I learned an incredible amount from Ken in the short time I spent with him. Ken had an amazing talent for dealing with difficult customers in often difficult situations. My prayers go out to the family during this very difficult time.

I first met Ken before Long & McQuade came to the Vancouver area. I was just a teenager and went into a Music Store I believe was called "Coda Music" on Seymour. Ken had me laughing within moments of meeting him. Some time later he started working for Long & McQuade and I began working with him when I started working for Long & McQuade in Vancouver in 1980 and we shared many laughs over the years. He'll be missed but the memories will live on. All my best to his family.

Though I only met Ken once, he introduced me to a new branch of my family that I always wondered about: Uncle Gordon. My impressions of that visit at Grandma's house have stayed with me for thirty years, and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to have met. May God enrich Ken's family now with all the fond memories that they cherish of such a loved one as Ken was.

To the Family,
I've worked with Long & McQuade in the Edmonton store for 15 years now, and had the pleasure and privilege of knowing, and working with Ken on many occasions. His professionalism, experience and his dry sense of humor when working with me on a problem file, made the job much easier. He will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to the family.
Sincerely,
Cliff Minchau,

I first had contact with Ken in 1984 when I was living in Vacnouver and working for a competetor. He spent time planting a seed which helped me get to where I am today as a Long & McQuade employee and as a member of the credit industry for the last 20 years
I appreciate him and will miss him dearly
